Thanks everyone. I think I will submit a resume. Although I do have concerns that Weatherby might not want to wait for me to graduate (July) and with the taxes and firearms restrictions in California in general.

Are you on LinkedIn? If not, get on it. You may have a connection into the company already. Much better to submit through a connection.

Last time I checked Weatherby didn't make high cap "assault weapons". Bolt action rifles are still bought, made and sold in CA. Taxes? Generally a higher salary in CA will make up for it. Even if not - there are a lot of pros to CA that do justify the higher cost of living IMHO.

You know that they base the Targa California there for a reason. Also that area seems to be a meeting place for car clubs from around the state. Kind of middle ground between N and S Cal.
Morro Bay Is near by on the coast too, It seems like a cool town.

Lots of ranches and some vineyards in the area, so I would think there is a rural/practical attitude toward guns there. Plenty of vermin to be dealt with. Plus as mentioned earlier plenty of game in the area.

Hopefully they will fly you out for an interview. Then you could check out the area for yourself. I my mind the area is a big plus in terms of considering a job there.

Cheers Richard

Yes, but I have to do some work on my profile. Did not see any direct connections at this point. One of our instructors do have a contact with someone that recently left Weatherby and he said he will try to get some info for me.

Was suspecting the roads were good in that area. Drove from SF to LA a few years ago along the coast line. Sure it will be more fun the 944!
