Webbers new weapon

Mark Webbers new car, Porsche 919 for 2014.

Not a paint scheme I like, but it's not my car, so....

It's not a paint scheme. It's camo for development.

Looking at the drivers in the second picture, Webber will probably be teamed with the other taller drivers. Just an observation but Webber's car will be slower. That much mass sitting higher in the chassis has to make that car slower than the car with Snow White's crew.

That makes sense too! BTW I've always wondered, someone of say Danica's size
who I'd say wouldn't be over 100 lbs, and Ryan Newman or Tony Stewart, who must weigh 240 each; wouldn't they be giving a lot away to Danica? Her car could use the extra weight at a lower COG n'est pas? Or maybe her car would just run lighter?

In F1, Prost must have had great advantage over someone like Mansell or even Button. Not so many heavy guys like Stewart and Newman and 9 foot tall Mike Waltrip in F1, but a great variance still.

The teams must lust after the 90 lb weaklings as drivers. IMHO

To keep teams from striving to make their chassis super light and trade it for a lower CG ballast, nascar has limits on how much ballast can be fitted in different areas of the car.

Ideally, they'd stack it all on the bottom left, in which case the lighter driver would have an advantage, as is, its fairly equal, especially as the driver is on the left.

Indycar - does not take driver weight into occasion last I heard.

I believe both F1 and NASCAR include driver weight, and have rules about weight balance that keep teams with lighter drivers from stacking the ballast for an advantage. An advantage may still be present - but its minimized.
