Don't worry, BigB
I, for one, find your posts quite entertaining, and FUN is why we all keep coming back to the BBS. If everyone was staid and boring, it'd be a drag. Stick around, don't worry what other people think. You're no more abnormal than anyone else on this board, btw I love the pics you posted of your 993!

This board is polite.
Take a look at roadfly.org. It is a very active BMW board. There are people on there that will blow newbie's away and are constantly looking for a fight. Especially on the M5 board. This is the most imformative and newbie freindly board I have seen.

1. This is the best board I've been on!
2. No one is perfect! 3. This board allows people from ALL walks of life to interact fairly directly that might otherwise never meet and or get along (guys who make $40,000 and guys that clearly make 5-10 times that). I'd say that is pretty unique. 4. I like it here and I'm one of the ones who was cerimoniously blasted for drinking while posting! 5. I got to admit that I've looked at some of my own posts and after the fact figured I was lucky no one blasted me. 6. I do know this, I have a P-car that I like alot (plus this is fun) so I'm staying. If you fall into the same catagory, you should to. ![]()

I was just thinking yesterday about how great this board is; it really is the best of the internet w/ free, (no charge), exchange of valuable information. People with no familiarity of 911s can log on and learn everything they need to know, from important and potentially expensive valuation questions, ("appraise this" arguments"), to the "how to" DIY discussions, rip-offs to avoid, (MM threads), Wayne's books and tech articles, etc., etc.
Brian, (BigB), You are clearly welcome here, and have become a valuable contributor, IMO, partly BECAUSE you are new to a lot of this and ask questions that probably other new people want to know but are afraid to ask. My only advice would be to ignore the responses which are not helpful, (we all have to), and don't bait people or take the bait when someone is just looking for a fight. Most people who want to have a "keyboard battle" are P.O.'ed at home about something and this is their only safe place to take a swing, IMO. I don't give them the pleasure, (ususally, but I'm not perfect either), let 'em just beat their heads against the wall cause they can't find a good "fight" on the Pelican board. ![]() Stick around and contribute, most definitely. Many of us, (me), are new to this medium and still refining the etiquette. Take care, buddy. ![]()

Big B? I'm sure we've all made posts that pi**ed people off, have made posts trying to help with a problem, have made posts that give a laugh. Unless somebody is purposefully an a-hole, and those folks do tend to get punted, I think that's what the board is about....it seems to me you've learned that. This board is a constant learning process for me...a cyberspace version of what PCA used to be. We had our early differences, but you do seem to have figured the board out. So, welcome aboard...

Hi Brian,
For the most part it seems that your posts start out asking a question and/or you are trying to get some kind of feed back on an issue. I have enjoyed reading them whether it is a heated or unheated discussion because I usually get something out of any post I read. But I have to admit...for some of your posts as soon as I read the way something was worded...I think...OUCH...someone is going to jump on that!! Here is my 2 cents & you can feel free to disregard my "female" point of view it if misses the mark. I do not think you 100 % intend on misdelivering your message. If you could slow down and re-read what you are posting and confirm that is what you want to say...then hit SEND. Then read (re-read) the responses back to you & see if your message was delivered as intended. If you do not think they got what you meant, then try to restate it in a way for clarity rather than taken as a personal insult. Hopefully you will get across what you intend to and then the feed back (if sarcastic in nature) will be much more of a bantering joking for fun "JK" nature and not intended as a flame session. Sometimes it is hard to tell if someone is just playing & joking around OR if they are intentionally being meanly sarcastic or condescending. That is where each person can decide if they want to join in or take a pass. Good luck with deciding if you feel you want to stay or go!! Sarah ![]()

Thanks guy's I feel better about things. I had a few rough experiences with some of my recent threads. Once again I enjoy my interaction here for the most part and who know's, quite possibly I will attend a real life get together. As with life outside the net people will push button's. I have always had difficulty learning to play well with others. I have learned to respect most of you folks. I like it here and will continue to pop in as frequently as I have been. I appreciate your 911 companionship.

singing,,, "everybody hates me, nobody likes me why did i make that post". quit your balling bigB, if you cant play well with others then sit at the back of the class at recess and just listen to the good kids. JUST KIDDING,, dont get all hot,, was just fanning the flames that seem to be subsiding on this post.
now, this olin cat, he seems like a tool. i might enjoy hanging around that guy for a spell. although when you hang with guys like that you better bring your own car, or have a $20 bill stashed in your shoe for cab fair. things will go south in a hurry with guys like that. O' BigB where art thow
