Slow cooker fans, corned beef brisket

Slow cooker fans.....Stater Brothers and other markets are discounting the left over Corned Beef Briskets from St Pat's Day......I just got 6lbs for under 10 bucks.

Salsa, 1/4'd onions, crushed cayenne peppers, garlic, and whatever else is in the fridge that has been getting uppity.....12-14 hours later......gnarly pulled beef. I have 6 freezer canisters.....1/2 lb each, bachelor sandwich fare for a month.

DO NOT smoke a store bought corned beef brisket. I speak from first-hand experience. It will be so salty it is inedible. You have to boil it to lessen the salinity.

Used pressure cooker here as well. Takes a lot longer than a regular brisket though. About twice as long for me...about an hour and fifteen minutes under pressure.

i pressured cooked mine. SUCKED!! the meat turned out great, but the process is nerve racking to me. my cooker is sketchy. i feel like i have a bomb in my kitchen for the hour and a half. i cant relax.

i should invest in a new (better) one for safety's sake.

yeah the pressure cooker makes great pate out of meat.

I like the crock pot, but kinda went at the use of salsa in the slow cooker.

I usually use plain chuck roast too, not corned beef.

Raw veggies in the slow cooker with cabbage on top.

I use what is CHEAP.....at 1.49 a pound......WTF?

I usually go with a cheap pork shoulder......anyways, the kids and my Momz have been "sampling" during the process. Keeps getting better and better. We turned it off over night.
