$1100. From what I gather it was made in 2000.

That's a steal if it hasn't had the headstock break and repair.

The only 2 things I can find are the pick-ups and case are not original.
1 ding, in the back edge, behind the toggle switch area, no scratches anywhere.
That's why I had to start this thread!! 4 years ago, I bought a 2006 Les Paul standard, cherry sunburst, 60's neck, from a guy in his mid sixties. He wanted $1200 or B/O, I couldn't beat him up..... just because the guitar was as new. I told him I would be an a-hole to offer any less.

Rick, here's the ad:

"A 1960 Re-issue Gibson "Les Paul Classic"! It is a tobacco sunburst color w/ Seymore Duncan pick-ups!! It is in Excellent condition and there are NO scratches or dings! It is always in the case when not being played! Asking $1100!"

Like I said, 1 ding, wrong case.

That's a nice guitar and a lot of guitar for the money. It probably won't ever lose a dime in value if you don't beat it up too badly.

Killer deal. Why cant I find a deal like that here?

I got a Classic '57 neck and Burstbucker 3 bridge zebra pickup set with coil tap pots and wiring I got no use for, wink wink nudge...

50 S neck or 60 s neck. Unusual that there is no original case that come with it. Lots of forgery's out their. Any paper work with it? One piece body or 3 piece? Ink on number or stamp? Guitar on the right is a 1992 on the left 2002. Just trying to figure out what it is.

jwgn777, it's got a 60's neck. (being a 60 reissue...)
The serial # is like the one on the left, 6 digit. (006552) One thing I found online, that Classics don't have the "Made in USA" stamped on the back. If it didn't have the ding on the back, it would be mint.

[B]QUOTE=jwgn777;7328863]Did you say this was sold to you as a reissue?According to the serial number you should have a 1967 made in Kalamazoo however that would be a SG Standard LOL. In 1973 Gibson had some reissues with six digit serial number starting with the number (0) and no volute on the neck but might have had the made in USA stamped in. Confusing isn't it? I am only going by the serial number here which is consistent to 60s numbers.
From what I found online, it's a 2000. Tonight, I finally cleaned and oil the fret board, also put new strings on. The headstock says, "Les Paul" with the word "Classic" at the end. Truss rod cover has Classic on it also. When cleaning it, I realize what a steal this was. I'm a happy boy!!! All I need now is a 550 Spyder barn find. Sorry, I sound greedy...

I also had a 1960 Classic reissue. Inside the pickup cavities there were "1992" stamps. It had had the headstock repair, but the repair didn't look great. It hedl up fine, played, felt, sounded and looked like a nice LP should. I got it on eBay for $1000 delivered around 2004 with original hardshell case. I tried to sell it for a long time and everyone told me it was worth no more than $800 because of the repair. I ended up trading it even for a Colt Combat Commander with plenty of extras.

Rick, the neck joint shot was for you. The last shot shows the ding, the only flaw. Also, serial # shot. I do love the input.

What is the difference between a classic and a standard?
