If I was Amanda Knox

I wouldn't be booking any vacation time in Italy, or anywhere near there.

porsche4life 03-26-2013 08:44 AM

I'd be finding a non extradition friendly country and booking my ass a one way flight there

Jferr006 03-26-2013 08:45 AM

For real!...Why are the Italians trying so badly to stick it to her?...is there something political I'm missing?

Aragorn 03-26-2013 08:46 AM

I would say Perillo tours is defiantly out of the picture...

The Italian "justice" system is somewhat of a joke. They convict scientists for man slaughter when they don't exactly predict the time and severity of an earthquake - like we have the knowledge to prevent that!

Basically, when something happens, you have a "rage" that needs to be taken out somewhere, so a target is picked, and it taken out upon them. That is Italian "justice".

On the news this morning, I don't think the US will extradite her because of the double-jeopardy issue. However, I would be concerned about traveling anywhere inside the EU.

You think so..? Hmm I need to do some more reading on this.

masraum 03-26-2013 08:51 AM

I probably wouldn't be leaving the country much.

I probably wouldn't be using the name "Amanda Know" much either. I would get used to something else like "Sally Fairfield" or something...

yellowperil 03-26-2013 08:55 AM

I read the book by her co-accused italian boyfriend, and it makes a good case for their innocence. So ok, they liked to get a little stoned and scr*w. Gee 22 yrs old, who would
have ever thunk it. And I wouldn't blame her boyfriend thinkin' that was a good idea!

widgeon13 03-26-2013 08:56 AM

Bet she gets no support from the State Department although if I were her I would request support.

they think she's just another American that got away with murder.

FPB111 03-26-2013 09:18 AM

Why are they pursuing this? Prosecutor saving face?

Ivory Coast drifter Guede fled to Germany
immediately after Kercher was killed, but
was lured by police and a friend into a Skype
call. He was sentenced to 30 years, which
was reduced on appeal to 16 years. DNA at
the crime scene and on the victim matched
Rudy Guede..

Not double jeopardy, even here. A higher level appellate court sent it back to a lower level appellate court with instructions - that could happen here, even.

sammyg2 03-26-2013 10:50 AM

WTF is up with the itallian justice system, do they really just flip a coin?

One more place I'll never need to go.

widebody911 03-26-2013 10:59 AM

If I was Amanda Knox, I'd do a Playboy spread, before old age and gravity take their toll.

Just sayin'...

We have a different legal system. If a defendant is acquited for a crime at the end of a trial then they can't be retried for that crime. Now if there is a mistrial prior to an acquital verdict then the prosecutor could choose to retry the case.

This thread is useless without pics.

Just saying..
