Yes, I can talk on the phone for 10 minutes and it still is 100%.

My techy guy here says download "battery doctor" from the app store, it's free.

jyl 03-29-2013 04:24 PM

This is 6.1.3?

I won't install it then. iOS 6 is working great for me, don't want to fix a not-broken.

Heck, I haven't even upgraded to iPhone 5 yet.

Thanks for the tip. Closed 72 apps! Wow.

Whatever you do, do NOT GO WITH VERIZON, and DO NOT BUY A MOTOROLA PHONE.

I've had these problems for over a year, and still not fixed:
1. email will not sync
2. I get 3G data and I'm paying for 4G data
3. speaker will sometimes work, sometimes not. Hence, I miss important calls.
4. phone locks up and requires a hot re-start.
5. Updates from Verizon always cause new problems and wipes out saved Contacts

And I bought their supposedly top of the line Razr Maxx which is supposed to have a 14 day battery life or whatever. Hogwash. Phone never lasted more than 1 day.

Verizon will not let me out of the contract, so I will have to pay a ton of money when I switch to a new cell provider, which I will do. I just need to find another one and I am gone.

Those sound like phone problems rather than Verizon problems. You might buy yourself an iPhone that works on Verizon. The Verizon network is the best in the US, so I wouldn't rush away from it.

You aren't missing anything at all. I have a iPhone 4 and my girlfriend has a 5 and I much prefer mine.

The OS is identical and the newer one actually feels cheap as it's too light. That said, it is quicker, a fifth row of apps and a longer screen.

^^^This^^^I have been with Verizon for more then 20 years. I have NO complaints.

I feel so dirty, yesterday my Galaxy 3 arrived and I love it. The Iphone 5 is off and sitting in a drawer in the kitchen.

Verizon finally (after 1 year of problems) sent me out a replacement Droid Razr Maxx. I have been paying for the replacement warranty each month. Guess what? New phone is defective as well. This is the one that won't ring. If they wanted to keep my business, wouldn't they have sold me a new working phone to begin with, instead of a new defective phone, and a refurbished un-working phone?

I have never had any of the issues you describe. Verizon seems to be the best of the rest--certainly better than Sprint, Metro PCS and do not even get me started on AT&T, which completely sucks.

By the way--a contract is a contract. Why would you expect to be let out of it? There are plenty of providers that do not require them.

Good luck in your search!

Todd: A contract provides mutual obligations. They breached the contract. See above.

Fair enough--I just haven't had any problems with them; of course I am on an iphone and not a motorola.

jyl 03-30-2013 01:52 PM

Scott, are you selling your 5? What carrier?

I am thinking very hard about an iPhone 5. I might get the new Samsung Galaxy.

Haven't been with em that long, but I have no complaints! Everything works great on my Galaxy SIII, the Nexus before that, Thunderbolt before that, Droid Pro before that and original Droid before that.....

I like unlocking my galaxy using face recognition, I'll never get tired of this.

Isn't that sweet. You need a Droid Razr Maxx.
