Every time "Bob" takes off in his airplane, gather the neighbors and do maintenance on the runway. Make sure there is plenty going on when he has to land again.

(Of course, it's my observation, (My dad lived on an runway) that there are a lot of folks who never ever fly again once they live in an airpark)

cashflyer 04-11-2013 10:23 AM

BE911SC... I moved here two years ago; bought a house in the park, and moved my businesses here. Unless I win a lotto mega jackpot, I cannot move.

Oss... thanks. Some of the neighbors have started videotaping his antics.

GWN7 04-11-2013 04:45 PM

As others have said document every bit of his weirdness.

I can't believe that there is no police agency that isn't interested in a guy that's off the wall, who buys explosives and owns a airplane.

A chainsaw would make short work on the flagpole with the camera on it......

You would be shocked to find out just how common these crazies are. That being said the local police no doubt already know about this guy but there is nothing they can do preemptively. Unfortunately there are no laws against being a jackass, if there were Webb would have died in San Quentin decades ago.

Sorry, that was wrong... all in good fun :)

SeanPizzle 04-11-2013 05:36 PM

Bob will be dead inside of a year. Taunting a man who has nothing to lose isn't wise.

Racerbvd 04-11-2013 06:42 PM

Just take him out & kick his ass, simple as that, have the other neighbors swear that he attacked you..
You could also put a few pounds of pot in his plane & report him to the DEA:rolleyes:

I feel for you. My first house had a Crazy neighbor. I moved. I would have moved even without the neigbhor but it was the reason that prompted me. He is well known in the community. And well despised.

Larry

As for advice? I think Jay needs to document and file a restraining order. Perhaps a civil suit for stalking / harassment? Not certain of the statues.

thats what i was thinking. i hate HOA's, will never live in one, but, if they can sue you over not cutting your grass, it may be what you need.

i work for the FAA as an electronics tech at MYR.

dont let him cut the grass.

In SC, not even freaking close. The whole neighborhood having restraining orders wouldn't get that effect. Honestly, I doubt the whole neighborhood getting restraining orders would even get his CWP revoked.

70SATMan 04-12-2013 08:53 AM

First, I'd build a wall out of concrete block (good fences and all that) and then go to the hardware store to try to find some discounted paint. Baby Poo Yellow should do the job.

rrental 04-13-2013 08:40 PM

Would it be possible to call a meeting with all the other residents, found an association and adopt some strict by-laws? From what I get out of it you will have a majority.

No idea if this is legally possible, just my 0,02 cad$

cashflyer 04-14-2013 06:43 AM

We currently have a property attorney looking into the C&R issues. We are hoping that fixing that issue will lead to fixing other issues.

Also, on the 21st we will be removing the concrete platform where the VASI was previously mounted. We don't want that liability magnet ever going back on the property.

Yesterday, Jay went out to mow his lawn. Bob took his golf-cart out to the taxiway and shadowed Jay the whole time. To me, the guy is looking to provoke a fight. And I think Jay should consult with an attorney about any harassment and stalking laws in SC. Still, as mentioned, restraining orders are pretty useless.

Joe Bob 04-14-2013 07:15 AM

Paging Cousin Guido....please pick up the white courtesy phone....

afterburn 549 04-14-2013 02:02 PM

So it bothers you he mows in no particular order ?
Who needs help here ? LOL

cashflyer 04-14-2013 02:51 PM

No, it bothers me that he mows in no particular order while his mower deck is deliberately set so low as to damage the grass.

Joe Bob 04-14-2013 03:03 PM

Setting up a Joint Powers Association that handles all the services is something you should look into. You can handle waste, water, power, gas and local authority....hell you can even appoint a constable.

All it costs is assessments.....may or may not be offset by opting out of local services. Depends on how deep the pockets are of the owners.....

I agree. Bob needs to be stopped and it seems Jay might just be the one to is going to end up doing it..................unfortunately

cashman 04-14-2013 03:25 PM

Next time he takes off, have all the neighbors park on the runway so he has no place to land. Do this repeatadly. He may get the hint. I don't even think this illegal. It's a private strip.

Stumbled across this thread while hunting for another one. Any recent stories/developments?

gsmith660 08-26-2013 11:19 AM

I dont know what the laws are in your state but in mine if someone was acting in a threatening manner with a gun involved then I would not go outside unarmed and if he started ranting with the firearm and entered my property or fired at me then I am within the law to dispatch him to the almighty immediately. In most states I think there are laws against discharging firearms in close proximity to other residences even in the country. Other than the firearms being involved I would ignore him and let him mire in his misery but be ready to respond to fire with fire. Just my 2 cents I would advise the other guy he has taken a particular dislike of to watch his backside and carry also for self defense I agree this guy could trip offline at any moment and you could try to reason with him and find out whats bothering him but that could make you a major target also in today's society you never know what could happen but it is always protect yourself your loved ones and your property.

Don Ro 08-26-2013 11:53 AM

He may not be getting routine pusse du jour.

mr.woolery 08-26-2013 01:06 PM

Anonymously give him the gift of the movie "In Broad Daylight"

Nothing new. For whatever reason, the crazy one started minding his own business and has not been antagonizing anyone else or doing stupid crap.

Dunno what changed in his life. Maybe it has been all the rain we have had this summer - keeping everyone indoors.

I'm just glad it all quieted down.

McLovin 08-26-2013 01:32 PM

Place a dead giant cactus across his driveway.

Everyone knows what that means.

Update to this neighborhood soap opera:

Bob (the nutter) in October called Animal Control about my dog, alleging that she bit his wife. There was no physical evidence; no photos, no doctor visit, nothing, presented to the Animal Control officer who followed up. And I checked my video surveillance and nope... it never happened. My dog was playing in the yard when Bob's wife walked past our house.

I spoke to the Sheriff's department and asked about penalties for Bob filing a false complaint. I was told that false complaints to Animal Control "don't count" because they are "not really police". I was told I might be able to go after him with a civil suit, and to consult an attorney.

Yesterday I received a letter from Bob. The letter now states that the dog "only grabbed her shirt tail" so they didn't need to take photos or go to a doctor. The letter went on to state, "but I have now documented that your dog is aggressive, and will not be prosecuted if I decide to shoot it".

Again, the video surveillance does not support his claim. My dog never attacked his wife, never bit her, and never grabbed her shirt. I believe that Bob is bored and looking for a way to have some fun.

schamp 01-08-2014 11:25 AM

I would not let this stand. This guy may decide to shoot your dog. Then what happens? I think I would have to spend the time to use the video and have an attorney send a letter or better yet, get a restraining order. Not that it will do any good. But, it shows you to be trying to do the right thing.
Wonder how long the guy spent thinking this crap up?

BlueSkyJaunte 01-08-2014 12:00 PM

Well, now you know where to dump your dog's poop.

lane912 01-08-2014 12:18 PM

that sounds like a viable threat to harm youe pet-

Gogar 01-08-2014 01:22 PM

Hold onto that letter.

cashflyer 01-08-2014 01:39 PM

I spoke to my attorney, who also suggested a restraining order.
And also said to hold onto the letter.

Both actions "just in case".

But as schamp said... "then what happens?"

sammyg2 01-08-2014 01:48 PM

I believe it is time to call in an expert:

Paging oddJob Uno, OJU come in please.

GWN7 01-08-2014 01:58 PM

Go to the police with the letter and the video of the day in question. This documents that he is a liar. Then get a restraining order. He has made threats against you and your family (my dog is my family). Tell the judge and the police your in fear of your life from this person. Suggest nicely that ne needs psych evaluation. Maybe they will seize his firearms.

on2wheels52 01-08-2014 02:05 PM

Assuming your other neighbors are in the same boat, it may be time to round them up for a sock party. There's people out there that just need an ass whipping.
Jim

Mr.C 01-08-2014 02:25 PM

As ateenager we had a douche bag in our neighborhood just like Bob. Guess who got the brunt of all our great ideas? BB guns late at night make some wonderful noise.

Don Ro 01-08-2014 04:13 PM

I'd say that what makes ole Bob dangerous is that he is clearly unaware as to how he has now escalated this matter to your advantage.
Man, I'd hate having a neighbor like him...life's too much of a b ! t c h already!
Can you keep that video on file?

cashflyer 01-08-2014 04:30 PM

Yes... I can offload and archive the video. It is all digital media.

One of my neighbors has hypothesized that he was a social outcast as a kid, and that has made him anti-social as an adult. I don't care the reason, I only care about a solution.

Clearly an abuse victim!
