When I'm in a men's room at the urinal other men come in, hock up a loogie and spit into the urinal as they start to piss? What is this spitting into the urinal as you start to piss thing?

What a strange coincidence this is. I witnessed this behavior for the first time today, and it was in the men's room of the Walmart on 164th, and it was the first time I've ever been in a Walmart (my girlfriend said "this is the good Walmart") as a way of persuading me to go inside...

So I'm washing my hands, and two guys wearing sleeveless t-shirts walk in, and the first thing they do is walk up to adjacent urinals and loudly spit in the urinal. Totally gross and totally done for effect, in my opinion. No reaction from me. These neanderthals gave the impression that violence was no stranger in their lives. I exited the men's room and encountered their wives(?) and their many children screaming and running amok. Suddenly Nordstrom was calling me home...

Most of the people I see coming and going at Walmart have trouble making it back and forth to the car.

If not in the washroom, where else can you let fly? (Gas, not loogies). Friends/wife will complain if you do it while walking around, in line seems rude, right outside the front door isn't great, especially if it's a restaurant. Isn't that what the bathroom is for?
