R.I.P. Mr. Trickle
Dick Trickle's death brings sorrow, shock to NASCAR community - Autoweek
NASCAR drivers expressed shock and sorrow on Friday as details emerged from the apparent suicide of 1989 Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year Dick Trickle. Authorities in Boger City, N.C. said Trickle, 71, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound shortly after noon on Thursday. Just before noon, he had called the Lincoln County Communications Center to tell officials they'd find his body near Forest Lawn Cemetery.
