Not surprising its costly, looks like a lot of time spent cleaning it up. Or is it cut that nicely in a CNC machine? Nice!!

Cheers Richard

You can assume it was machined, heat treated, straightened and machined again. Then polished. Possibly peened somewhere along the line and maybe cryogenically treated. You probably noticed it hasn't been balanced yet. The final balance will be done with the flywheel, rods and bearings in place.

One racing site lists a similar CS at $3500. That's before anything has been done with it.

Correct Milt, out the door $3,500.00, now the fun begins.

Thats a very nice piece of craftsmanship,
I was wondering, have you cleaned the oil passages ?
I had a crank polished and it was full of polishing compound in each trap,
SO the galley plugs were drilled out then the gunk in the traps was cleaned then the holes were tapped and screw plugs fitted.

Good luck with your build

Well, good point, but any engine builder will clean and re-clean all internal components of the engine and spend a lot of time on the block making sure every last bit is out of the passages. I like the idea of tapping all of the plugs. I think Walt at Competition Engineering does that with all Porsche cases.

But, it's been awhile since I was in that world.

we clean, clean and clean some more. We then use kimwipes and alcohol for final and I use a magnifying glass so no dust is between any surfaces
