Got flipped off by a cyclist
I guess some didn't get the memo that cycling and doping is no longer cool. This guy was wasted.
As I'm heading home on a 35mph, two lane road with no shoulder, I slow down for the cyclist in front of me, and ultimately come to a complete stop as he's wobbling about, totally out of control. Think of a youngster learning to ride, it was that bad. He ran off the road 2 times, the first time he saved it, the second time he bit it. After he waxed, he gets up, turns around, looks right at me and flies the bird. I was yielding to him to carry on about his business, but alas I don't think he wanted an audience and let me go by. ![]() It might have been the most pleasurable experience I've had with someone riding a bike on a public road.

I was safely driving on a country road behind a peloton. Giving them lots of room when down goes the guy leading the pack......every last guy went down in a pile causing me to stop and slowly go around them. It happened really fast.

I fell over coming into the gate on my 10 speed at Ramstien AB, the guards just laughed at me & let me go on my way. That was 25 years ago, now I imagine they would arrest me or at least call my first shirt.

The terminology for two wheeled transport gets sullied. Motorcyclists and bicyclists get lumped into "cyclist" . Not all motorcyclists want to get lumped together; Ninjas, BMWs, Harleys and Goldwings being quite different. Harley riders are hardly homogeneous - there is much variety but fairly polarized, mostly dictated by the condition of the leather and denim.
The rider in this story is no bicyclist. He is a "urban primitive"

When I was first learning to ride a bicycle with clipless peddles, I had a pair of Look pedals that should have been called "crash" pedals because that's what I did ALL the time...
I just couldn't get out of them at a stop light/sign (and yes, even back them I STOPPED). Over I would go, in front of cars, pedestrians, etc. Made a complete fool of myself many times. So I just decided to "roll" with it. I'd hit the ground, get up, take a bow and then pick up the bike and get back on. What can I say - I'm a dork and humor cures or at least helps cover up personal stupidity! ![]() angela
