I need a good valve thingie that turns the water from the tub spout to the shower head - any ideas for me? and how involved it is to install?

(I am cool with the amount of head I'm getting)

What does your set up look like now? Only tub spout?

The best shower by today standard. With t his, you don't even have to drill or remove the water restriction screen. it will blast your skin off your back. I push for this shower head on all my clients because it just works well. A little over 100 bucks.

Check how much water is coming out of the shower head by unscrewing the shower just to check float. You will know if you get a face full of water blasting at you.
Is there a hand sprayer that works this well? My wife and I prefer to use them over the fixed shower heads. Thanks.

I picked up a waterpic dual head shower head, has one stationary and one on a hose with a valve that allowed you to switch to one or the other or bolt at Target for $40. We are pretty happy with it.

When I go out to work on a site for an extended period of time and rent a place rather than staying in a hotel, the first thing I do is go to HD, buy the highest cap shower head I can find and swap it out.

Then just before I leave, I put the original piece of crap back on.. Heh heh.

The owner I buy my plumbing fixtures from does that when he goes on vacation or trade shows. He brings a Club Master with him.

I will find out for you. Most hand held are not as powerful as Hans Grohe's Club master, but I think they make a Club Master hand held.

I try to get people to install a separate adjustable bar with hand shower, usually right next to the bench if room allows.

Jim,

They do make one but I am not sure if they are as good compare to the wall mount in terms of power. The Club master is a water saver that will comply with code, but it does feel like the shower heads of old with lots of water. I will find out for you.

no - it has a dual lever thing - the big lever changes the temperature and the other rotating knob selects the volume

the pull up on the spout selects the shower vs. tub flow

Web,

YOu no longer want to use the pull tab thing on the spout to divert water to the shower head, instead you want to use the handle / knob to do the same divert the water to the shower head?

I only use Speakman shower heads. They're so good, you'll be tempted to pack it in your suitcase when you travel.

If flow is weak, then you'll need a booster pump that turns on automatically.

I have no idea about the combo shower/ tub thing.

I stayed in a place that had one of these:

I came home and bought one the next day. I drilled out the water flow device, but I never run it hard. But, if I want to if I'm sore, man that thing will do a number.

What is it not doing? Try to get another spout like that and see if it does the trick. They are cheap, 15 bucks.

That being the case, I think you will like Speakman as much as I do. The Sheraton, Marriott and Hilton use this high-pressure showerhead. If you have stayed at these hotels, you should have experienced the comfortable shower experience. I like to take a shower~~

I buy these from home despot:

American Standard
Colony 1-Spray 2.5 in. Raincan Showerhead in Polished Chrome
$ 10.27

It's amazing how much pressure and flow you can get out of one when you take a drill to the rubber flow restrictor inside it.

One time I got carried away and the wife complained that it put out too much pressure. I calmly explained how a water faucet works and how it is ADJUSTABLE.

Not sure if it was what I said or how I said it, but she didn't talk to me for a while.
And she thinks she was punishing me
