Going to Sedona, what to see?
I am going to be in Sedona AZ with my wife the second week in May. Any thing that is a must see or do? Any restaurants that shouldn't be missed?
Thanks, Bernie P |

Hot air balloon ride is awesome.
You can also rent a car and drive to the grand canyon from there. |

Bernie,
Just ready yourself to be amazed at the primal beauty. I went up there last year and I experienced a transformation. Once I was able to close my mouth & speak, I proclaimed to my friend that I would never again tell a lie, swear, or spit. It's a Holy place.

If you happen to be there on a weekend.....be prepared to see hundreds of motorhomes and tour buses!

Best wings I have ever had were at the Oak Creek Brewery.
Take the drive North up Oak Creek Canyon for sure.

Rent dirt bikes and ride Schnebley Hill Rd to I-17. No traffic at all.

Bernie you can't go there with out taking your wife out for a sun set dinner
at the Enchantment Resort. Resort is located in a boxed canyon and the view from the patio is stunning. Thanks Mike |

Pink Jeep, for sure....They get to go to some places the others are not allowed to. Also, drive up to the airport for some great views. Also check out Chapel of the Holy Cross. Make note of the colors used @ the local McDonalds...

You will most likely LOVE it there - best way to see it is to get out and walk some of the trails. There is a great trail behind and around the Chapel area (Frank Lloyd Wright, great views, a must see!).
If you are into Golf - the Oak Creak GC is just great! Locals, friendly, great vistas. There is a great walk about just shy of the Enchantment Gates....Enchantment is a privat resort and you should have reservations before you head out there. It is lovely, but they don't allow you to just drive into their compound. You can also rent a jeep and explore yourself - there are lots of very manageable routes you can take - we rented to get into the wilderness and then walked a bit from there. Dean and Deluca is one of the best restaurants in town....and don't miss Tlalaqupaque, a restoration of a Mexican village with some nice shops. A little cheesy, but well done. enjoy! td |

Sedona
See if you can find a vortex on one of the many walking trails and feel the power. Not that easy to do without a local guide. DP

I agree with Tadink that there are some great hiking trails near Sedona. I found the town touristy(dah!) but the views are great....
