Anybody here a neurologist or neurosurgeon?

After all this IS the brian trust right? Well...Mj has been really ill for the last couple months with what first was diagnosed as "frozen shoulder" and put on a steroid dose pack. Soon after she started complaining of head and facial aching that would keep her up at night. Also complaining of strange vision anomalies in one eye. She contacted her GP and he said that it sounded like an allergic reaction to the dose pack, which made sense to us as this started happening after she had completed the treatment. However her GP ordered a CT scan of her head just to be on the safe side. Well we got the results tis morning and it appears she has a cyst on the left middle cranial fossa. Now can anybody here tell me how serious this is and what we can expect? I have done a search but if I could get an honest up front opinion from my brothers here we sure would appreciate it. She's pretty upset. I'm trying to be her rock.....

Without seeing images, it is a crap shot.
However, there exist brain cysts that are totally benign despite being quite large.
Some can also mean harm.

You need a real pro, not the wacky brigade here....

Hey George... I have a guy. Head/chairman of the neurology dept at UPMC in PGH. He did me when I had my stroke. We are working to get her hooked up with him. This place IS a great place for good info and personal experience as you well know. I just think it's too coincidental that she had no problems other than her shoulder before the dose pack...connection?

Dave, I'm sorry that I have no medical advice, but I encourage you in being her rock. You obviously have the character and strength to do that well!

Thanks..we are going to see my surgeon...I call him "Bob the Blade" that worked on me when I had my stroke. He took her in immediately and we have a 1:00 appointment with him. She knows and trusts him a lot, which is good. Pretty cool as he is the chairman and head of the neuroligical dept. at UPMC in Pittsburgh so he is The Man. We are keeping our fingers crossed but are ready to do what we have to do.

You are being strong in these posts...but I do know the turmoil inside. It sure seems you're getting the best man possible.

I hope you understand that this is a tough subject for many here...Their absence doesn't mean they don't care.

May this work out okay...

I know and I understand. I have faith that it will be OK. Just another rough patch of road in our 31 years together. Tomorrow will be a big day. She was there for me when I crashed..I will be there for her as well. I thank all of you here and not here for your thoughts and wishes. I will post what we find out tomorrow night. You all will be with me through the day.

David, we've both reached a time in life when we realize what a good marriage is worth. Awaiting updates with positive thoughts...

Paul hit it on the head for me. I have a hard time reading threads like this and an even harder time summoning the courage to try and say something appropriate and worthwhile.

Best of luck tomorrow. It sounds like you are in good hands. MJ (and you) are in my thoughts.

It's a tough time ahead David but know that we are here for you.
My wife had a brain tumor removed 3 years ago and, other than being deaf in one ear now, she's as good as new.I'm hoping for a great outcome for your wife as well.
