would you buy a house someone died in?
Legit question. I'm not buying BTW..
What if it was natural causes, suicide, murder? Discuss. |

We did a full restoration / remodel on one and sold it within one week we had it on the market. It was disclosed, but I don't think most (Americans) people care. I know certain cultures, its a real taboo.

Awesome Jim.
Follow up question, once it sells, would you tell the new owner? Look171, but would YOU live there? |

I wouldn't care. Death is simply a part of the natural cycle of life; it happens.

I think Vash's idea of pushing a couch over the spot just about takes care of it. After you've done that it's all good.

I was talking to someone in another town about this subject. He said, "this town is so old, there is not a house in town that someone hasn't died in."
It wouldn't spook me to live in a house that someone died of natural causes. A mass murder house... that might. Especially if the walls moaned or chairs moved across the room unaided. Some locations in the US have disclosure laws for things like murder. There have been a few lawsuits over non-disclose of haunted houses. ![]() |

I looked at an ATV Quad for sale once, (Yamaha Raptor 660 2wd sport quad) he was an aggressive driver and jumped, landed wrong the the bike. SMUNCHED head = dead.
Just a bad ju-ju karma about fixing up a quad that some guy died on it.........I passed.

Isn't your garage haunted by a couple of dead cars?

I had a friend that purchased a wrecked Harley just because the former rider was killed while riding it. Put it back together and enjoyed riding it around and telling people about the former owner's misfortune.

When I was a kid, we looked at a house where the previous owner committed suicide. He/she crawled into a large trunk in the garage to do it. They didn't find him/her for a short time and the odor was what helped them locate the person. The house was a good deal, but an odor still lingered in the garage. My parents passed on it. Otherwise it wouldn't have been a big deal.
