Name your 5 top passions in life
Must list 5. Not 3, not 10. Five. Let's leave out the obvious choices of family and health. Those are givens. This could be interesting. I'll go first. Not necessarily in this order.
1. Travel 2. Motorcycle collecting 3. Racing 4. Being outside in the sun 5. Cultural enrichment

Not in any order.
Listening to music while singing along and alone in my car. Listening to audio books on a long drive alone. Riding my bicycle on a cool day. Food. Even though I haven't driven it in a few years, I'm passionate about my targa. |

Well, if people don't list sex in their TOP 5, this thread is useless.
So, with the idea that there is no particular order: Making things. Talking about making things. Getting tools to make things. Meeting people or at least being out and mobile. Sex. Add repairing things to the first 3. |

1. My wife and son and the joy that they bring me.
2. Projects! Starting them and finishing them well. 3. Mountain biking. Nothing like a two hour climb and a 20 minute downhill! 4. Sea kayaking. Even if it is just paddling in a lake or a reservoir. The whole world looks different from the water! 5. Teaching. I have been in a "new" position for the past 4 years and I found that teaching is like a drug that you need to have another hit of. It is an amazing thing when you have thrown out a concept and you see that they get it! Very cool....

1) My work - helping improve the quality of life of people suffering heart disease and other illnesses. (yes, I am more than a bit of a workaholic)
2) My wife & kids (or Eating & Drinking, if "family" is to be excluded due to obviousness). 3) Making & fixing things. Almost anything, from wristwatches to home appliances. 4) Cars - maintenance, repair, and upgrades. And just fiddling with them. 5) Sports - Football, basketball and auto racing (Grand Am/ALM & NASCAR) especially. Last edited by dw1; 05-04-2013 at 05:27 PM.. |

Interesting question, but you know....I read everyone's responses over and I guess I do not feel passionate about any particular thing. The test I was using is whether I would be despondent/down/depressed if it were taken away from me and I guess there is nothing that I could not (or do not already) do without. If something were unavailable to me, I would just move on to something else!
Now, to be fair, I am quite envious of you guys who have strong feelings about one thing or another, but I guess I do not really look at the world that way. Anyone else take the same view or am I nuts? Dennis |
