New spoon followed me home today! Sig p938!

I've been browsing pocket spoons for a while, and last week my coworker and I checked out several gun shops as he was getting ready for a CC class. I made the mistake of checking out a 938 and I fell in love. I resisted for a week, and did homework on them and one of the local shops had as good a price as online so I brought this one home today.

The shop I was in had several different options, but something about the black with Rosewood just drew me in. They even had one that was still factory sealed so no body had been fiddling with it on the shelf! I cleaned it all up this afternoon and put 50rds through it. Had 1 FTF, but that may have been due to me shooting 115gr instead of the sig recommended 124gr. I'll exercise it more though just to make sure I've got the bugs shot out of it!

Overall I love it. The fit and finish is superb. It feels good in the hand and isn't too jumpy when shooting despite being so little. The size is good and I will be able to pocket it with ease.

My only complaint is how damn stiff the magazine is. It tears your thumbs up to load it because its so stiff. I'll have to get something to make that easier. Getting the guide rod in and out is tough too, that flat spring is STIFF and you don't have much to push against.

Me too!

If I get lucky and can score some more of that $16/box 9mm () I will go down and shoot it some more. Its nice being at home where I can go shoot anytime as long as I want! Those plates wont know what hit them!

Looks great Sid. Do you hold it thumb over the safety as you would (could/would/should) on a 1911?

on the 1911 I do a two hand hold, both thumbs pointing forward and the hand holding the gun has the thumb resting on top of the safety. This sort of holds it down when shooting steel plates. I have the 238, the same gun, but the original chamfering of 380.
On the 238, I would not ride the safety top. I drop my thumb to straight forward. That said, the 938 has some minor differences, ncluding a larger, ambidextrous safety rig. Either way, the safety on these do not lock into the slide so the need to ride the top of the safety is negated.

The length is 5.9 inches. It is slightly wider and "taller" than the P290, but weighs 20% less. It is SA only, like a 1911. The P290 is DAO. The P290 is my normal carry these days.

My 1911 has never had the safety go to "on" while firing. 5,000+ rounds and my method is point the thumbs at the target.

Yes you can get an extended mag... Conveniently it holds another bullet too!

That is... If your thumbs aren't cut and bleeding by the time you shove that 7th one in!

Exactly, thankfully I've nt been bit by my 238. Your 938 is almost identical in build......I love the feel and haven't had a problem out of it......AND, it fits anywhere....I carry mine in an ankle, iwb and in a pocket holster. One way or the other, it easily goes everywhere with me

Cargo pants/ fatigues or loose jeans. Other wise it will get very uncomfortable.
