How much are we talking on their asking price?

Again, with that kind of warranty, there is little value added buying from the stealership. I'd buy private party with a good PPO and the necessary (if any) IMS upgrades on your dime upon taking possession.

Once the wheels are in motion, you're powerless to do anything except go along for the ride. Fortunately you'll be riding in your new Cayman by Porsche.

Like everyone on the board right now, I'm happy for you, Mike. I bet nothing is gonna wipe a silly smile off your face for a while!

Mike - one more comment - aren't you in SoCal? These are a dime a dozen here - shop carefully and don't fall in love with a particular car. I'd go with a private party buy or a lower mileage where you do get a CPO.

Congrats Mike!

30MPG!

I'm going to start practicing now... "but honey... I'm doing it for the gas mileage!"

Haha - looks like it is TOO LATE! :)

I will hold my congrats until we see the pictures! :D

LOL, he was too far down the slippery slope to heed your advice! Make sure you post pictures Mike!

Pictures!

Maybe it can get 30mpg but I doubt Mike will get 30mpg..at least for the first while. :D

Somehow I doubt it...

Sorry I went dark there - took the mid-day to pick it up then I had to get to a 2pm meeting and then I had a 5pm Baseball game to coach.

So, Driving from Long Beach to Orange from the dealer to the meeting. Then from Orange back to Smell Segundo for the game...in the Cayman. It was rough.

The game went a long time and it's dark now so I'll get more pictures tomorrow.

:D

I think you should have a date with Stunt Rd. tomorrow. Though be careful, I'll be up at Topanga Creek Bicycles picking up a new bike.

Maybe in a few weeks - Baseball season's not over yet. Playoffs start and we have practice tomorrow afternoon. Need to spend some time with my boys and go get their mom her mother's day present.

Just took the oldest who is 8 1/2 on a quick trip down the 105 and back. :D He remembers the 911 I sold when he was 5. He loved it - said he couldn't wait to get to school to tell his friends he has a Porsche. Then, true to form he told me I better not sell this one...

He loves the engine sound. So do I.

It needs a 6th gear. :D

I'm not a fan of the lobster fork wheels but the rest of the car looks great ! You will have a lot of fun with that car, I think the rear of a Cayman is just plain sexy !!!

onewhippedpuppy 05-11-2013 02:57 AM

Very nice, and I actually like the wheels. Congrats!

recycled sixtie 05-11-2013 05:26 AM

Congrats on the purchase. I am sure you will be fine with just 5 gears. 6 gears I think is overrated. The less gears there are the less chance of selecting the wrong gear......

Congrats Mike!

Don Ro 05-11-2013 07:25 AM

That's a smart-looking car. I lust for a Cayman.
Congratulations! Giving-in to temptation is a good thing. :)

Great color! You made the right choice, you only live once. I'm loving my S, so glad that I decided to retire the '87 from DD status and buy mine.

Awesome! Put me down with Matt as far as liking the wheels. IDK why everyone hates on the lobsters so much.

FWIW, I think Fister does Cayman/Boxster exhausts, too. Juuuuust sayin'

mikester 05-12-2013 08:32 AM

They would not have been my first choice but I like the way the look.

Pictures probably today after I make some bacon and what not for Mother's Day breakfast.
