What are the best?most fun cars you have owned?
So after selling (by my personal choice)all of my cars except my DD's I have time to think about the cars I enjoyed the most. Post which cars and why you liked them.
1st my 76 914-6 conversion. rust free car with a 2.7 with zeniths. Loved the car as it was super fast and yet looked the part of the ugly duckling. So when blew the doors off someone they were in amazement 2nd my 77 911 turbo conversion. Fastest car I ever owned. loved the lines and scary driver involvement 3rd my 77 plymouth volare with slant six and 3 on the tree. Something about a car like this when your 16 and driving at 60 miles an hour with the front fenders folding outward from rust like wings. Also the incredible chrome bumper that was indestructable. Great car This all said I think I will be car less for a while . I am going to build a small home up north on a lake for the whole family to enjoy. I will return someday to porsche ownership but have even thought about restoring a 40's chriscraft runabout I know crazy.

73E coupe with 2.7 RS-spec MFI. Street/track hot rod. Great fun.
My first car, an MG Midget was a lot of fun for a teenager.

Besides the SC, I think the most fun car I had was the Mazda Protege5.
It certainly was NOT fast but it was a hoot to test the limits of tire adhesion on corners.

I have been lucky to own several fun cars over the years; a TR3A, a 67' Firebird 400, an MGB-GT, a 240Z (sadly died of unibody cancer), a 911 SC Targa.
The best, most fun of all is our 84' Carrera coupe, which we have had for the last 20 years. The Carrera has never let us down, or ever needed major work. Best of all, it's been a fun, awesome ride. |

I loved my first car, and might even enjoy having a nicer copy.
1965 Chevy Impala 2dr, 350, 4spd, 4.10 rear. My first and only Porsche, 1988 911 targa. Probably the most fun/enjoyable car to drive that I've ever owned. And the two cars that I've owned since the 911, 1997 Mazda Miata, and now a 2004 turbo Mazda Miata. Tons of fun to drive, but not quite the experience of the 911.

Most of you will laugh at this but my Tiburon was a fun little car... Not the fastest or the nicest by any means but, I had fun with it when I was younger.

67 Camaro Convertible. First car, still own it, gave me a taste of freedom from mom and dad and a love of convertible that still influences every car purchase I make.
Porsche 914. I liked the looks, loved the handling, laughed at the shifter. 06 Lotus Elise. So this is what my 914 grew up to be. like the looks, they added more handling and HP, still giggle at the shifter (its better, but...) 74 911. My first 911, wanted one since I was a wee lad. Now if I could just get it to handle like the 914 or the Elise. Come on Porsche, is a great shifting car that impossible to build?

My first "sports car" a 1971 BMW 2002tii with a sunroof.
I drove that car everywhere, crossing the country in it four times. I get a smile on my face just thinking about it.

89 Carrera with a 3.6 V-ram.
And, well my 74 Capri, long ago. But that had little to do with the car and more to do with the willing and enthusiastic girlfriend I had at 18 years of age and the things that went on inside of it. But I digress. |

Current 1980 SC. Love it!
Past 1965 MGB roadster. Loved it as well. Honorable mention 1973 Chev Blazer full convertible top. Puke green and went everywhere. |
