I had one for about 2 years.
2wd with limited slip. That thing drove VERY nice and went everywhere I needed it to go. Towed a 20' enclosed trailer and couldnt tell it was there. Got rid of it because it was a compromise between an SUV and pickup, but not as good as either. Kind of a pain to keep removing the rear panels to convert to a pick up. Went with an extra cab Titan with no regrets.

A quote from the used car manager at the dealership I once worked at, "I hope we see some trucks come in on trade this weekend (Memorial Day) because all of us need them. The thing is, the customers know what they have and it's hard to get them for any kind of price. Especially anything that isn't a miler or a roach." Now he could have been blowing smoke to create a sense of urgency because that's one of the precepts of selling. Or, he could have been more or less telling it like it is. Traveling to the Midwest to look for and buy a vehicle is a difficult task. It won't be any different than shopping in SoCal except I would be living in a motel while I look. A truck looks good on the monitor, but the monitor can't smell it. Funny, too, that all the little cigarette burn marks never show up in the best of pics. I saw one that looked pretty good overall after spending 15 minutes on it. The interior was clean enough although it smelled. I reached up and turned down the passenger side visor and looked at the mirror. There was a complete crime scene on the glass. The detailers forgot to wipe that down. No, it wasn't blood, just a telltale of what that truck looked like the week before. If you had bought my current truck from me 3 years ago, you would have gotten a near show piece. There are vehicles out there that are meticulously cared for. Somewhat of a needle in a haystack, but at least I'm not looking from a motel room. One more thing. You remember our resident car locator that left here recently because of what a sewer this place is. Well, I have been in touch. Given my parameters, he hasn't turned up anything yet. I'm not disappointed because I know the task. You didn't want to help me or you would have. Just pounding away at your keyboard doesn't constitute help. The trucks that P4L listed were nothing special. One was a salvage title that he thought was an exciting deal, another priced at stone retail just like I was saying they were. And so on. You act like I can't see those on my own. So you see, I'm not as fooked up as you may think I am. So, take your cloud and move it somewhere else. IOW, shut up, Matt ![]() |
