I think I've seen pics of a coupe version. Very Aston like. That red drop top looks great. Gives an old f**t like me heart palpitations.

No one should get put off by the antiquated opinions of those that think Jag still uses Lucas electrics. Of course it's electronics these days and Jags have been using Bosch for years upon years. Ford exorcised the smoke demons if any were left. Tata has brought millions to new engineering.
However, those that are proud owners of well sorted 944s and other such magnificent cars of the 80's probably do know first hand of dash smoke. |
Beautiful car at first look - but as previously stated - it ain't no E-Type
|
And the Ferrari F12 ain't no 250 GT Lusso either. What's with the comparison?
|
Best thing about jags is that they get faster the more you drive them.
That's because all those parts that fall off the cars make them lighter. |

The S2000 doesn't belong in this conversation...It's waaaaay too plain.

Wow, that is one great looking car. Keeps the Jaguar name on the list of cars to have.
|
The front grill looks Maserati to me.

Haven't seen this in the flesh but at 3500 pounds and a wheelbase of 103 inches ! (The 997, also not a compact sports car any more even has only 92.5). Even with the V8 and 495 hp, it needs 4.2 s from zero to 60. To me it sure sounds like just another bloated touring car.
And can someone clarify what their 8 speed "quick shift" transmission is? It is the only option available. Here all the specs for you. All are SC engines. 2014 Jaguar F-TYPE, F-TYPE S, F-TYPE V8 S Specificationss | Jaguar USA G |
Oh, and when are car companies going to stop putting fender vents on everything they make? That design element has jumped the shark BIG time and will only be a way to make a car look dated in a couple of years.
Even the Focus has it ... G http://www.autoline.tv/journal-wp-co...ender-vent.jpg |
Don't start talking about 'jumping the shark' when it comes to contemporary automotive design. They all look alike to me with their angular, angry designs. Even the super cars tend to look the same at a glance with the exception of the Veyron.
The Jag is refreshing with its smooth lines which is something I hope becomes more of a trend in the future. |

Great looking car but it seems like a buttload of money for what it is. It is also a car with serious sport intentions that has a conventional torque converter automatic, when most competitors have some form of DSG or F1 gearbox (or a real manual). Personally I'd go with a Boxster S and put some money in my pocket.
|
that's the odd part - Jag was always sort of a reasonably priced high end sports car - this isn't
but, it's pretty - I look forward to watching other people drive them where I can see the exterior (and they can't) |
Automobile did a comparison on them last month with the Audi and 911, they came out well, as for others wanting to watch their hind ends, well, that's just the way some people are. followers.
