"It remains Porsche’s core model line, if not in sheer numbers, certainly in desirability."
Translation? If asian ladies had not taken a liking to the Cayenne, Porsche would be no more.

Great article, and also in today's Automobile section was a piece on the 918:

The NYT article is no more than rhetorical drivel. Nice summation, but where's the beef?

Like, the Porsche name would disappear somewhere? Because that would never, ever happen. To much value built up in the past 60 years in that brand name. Or you mean Porsche would cease to become an independent manufacturer, and become a nameplate owned by some giant automotive company? Oh, wait . . . |

Belonging to the PCA I get the magazine that gives sales of the company. I found this one statistic surprising. In the month of March, Porsche NA did not sell ONE Caymen! The ultimate drivers car and the one that has gotten so much great publicity. Meanwhile, they sold 1,508 Cayennes. Panamera's sold were 411, down 37%. There were 990 sold 911's in this month up 113% from last year. Of course some of these are due to new models coming out making the older ones less desirable. But not selling one Caymen! Look for some discounts.

Whisper thin content, for sure, but at least they got all the facts right.

A nice tribute piece appropriate for anyone who has never owned one but has thought about them now and again.

I met Dennis & his wife a few years ago after the Hersey swap meet. His shop is friggin' amazing, (as are both of them). One thing I'll never forget. He has 'restoration' parts in cases. One was a paint stick duct taped to a piece of rebar. To funny. He pulled it out of a 'restored' Jag if I'm not mistaken.

I'm not a usual Road & Track reader, but they have over 50 pages of 911 content this month. Really good stuff, I learned some new things.

a little bit surprising for a Jag, (I guess) but I'm sure a lot of Muscle Car buyers have found interesting surprises in their new baubles.
