A car that knocks me out cold:
Even after 50 years of looking at them. If I won the proverbial lottery, this would be one of my first purchases:

I can't believe they ever made something so beautiful and that it was American and reasonably attainable.

My ex-BIL has a 67 convertible with original factory side pipes, 427. It rumbles up and he turns the key off, and it just stops dead. Sets off house alarms.

I just saw it on the street while walking on Melrose this evening. It's someone's driver, look at the Hurst shifter and cup holders!

It's funny because I'm not a convertible guy but I love the roadster.

A new Sting Ray came out every year when I was in junior high and high school. Ads in all the car magazines. Sometimes there would be one sitting in the showroom of the Chevy dealership in town. Absolute unobtainium. Sheer torture for a car guy.
They've never lost any of that magic for me. ![]() ![]() ![]() Love it. It should be a driver. If I am ever fortunate enough to wrangle one, it will not be a garage queen.

Those have always been pieces of art as far as I'm concerned. No other Corvettes have ever been more beautiful. That said, I'd pick a '57 over the Sting Ray just because for some reason they've always been my favorite.

Amen! By far my favorite Corvette. Damn shame they brought the name back on the ugly new one.

A friend of a friend of mine had a red 63 split window that he used to let my friend borrow all the time to take to cruise-ins and such. His had non original side pipes and the stinger hood. It was a lot of fun to cruise around in but man, what a rough riding car that was.

I agree with you completely, Denis. I even prefer it as a ragtop.

Yep. This has always been my single most favorite automotive body style. My uncle had one when I was a little kid, and I have many memories of tooling around in it with him. Too bad they drive like dump trucks.

Had a matching number 66 427/425 HP, 4 spd, Knock Offs, Coupe in Mossport Green that I had restored. Leaving the line the thing would squat down and run like a scalded dog..

At 16, I bought a '65 Corvette convertible. Nassau blue with a white top and hard top. I kept it in stock condition and sold it before going to college. Awesome first car and I made a little money on the sale....
