Fed Tax return refunds

I know people who have been waiting more than 60 days for their tax return. This is what you find when you go to "where's my return". Guess they took the weekend off to get their ducks in a row.

This doesn't necessarily have to go to PARF. I'm more curious how many others are having a similar experience.

I never overpay, and thus never have to wait for a refund.

>60 days? wtf? Our refund came in one week.

BK911 05-28-2013 06:11 AM

Same here. Got mine direct deposit in a out a week.

cashflyer does it right. Never overpay and you never wait for a refund. You pay the same no matter what. And you haven't loaned the gubmint your money at 0% interest.

Sounds great but underpay too much and you owe a penalty. I'm happy to slightly overpay and get a small refund.

Wow, some of you are really getting refunds held up.

Maybe you need to re-register as Democrats.

UconnTim97 05-28-2013 09:55 AM

I eFiled and got my return in about a week.

Or use turbo tax and efile.

Got my federal back in a couple of weeks...but have not received the previous year's refund from the state yet.

matt711 05-28-2013 10:57 AM

Refund.. I wish. I have had to pay for the last two years.

cairns 05-28-2013 11:13 AM

Are you a registered republican? Is there a "T" anywhere in your name? Do you work for a company with a name like "Patriot Manufacturing" or "Gibson Guitars" or "Tetley"? Have you made any ex parte presentations lately? Do you serve tea and scones in the afternoon? Have friends referred to you as a "partier" or a "party animal"? Have you ever celebrated the birthdays of your children or anyone else?

Any of these reasons could be the cause for a delay in your return. Please enter all of the information required at the IRS website a.ud.itmetirs.gov. and sign and date the form. And, remember, the IRS is your friend. We're processing your return just as quickly as possible.

Mine was Turbo tax and efile. April 1.

Jim Richards 05-28-2013 11:16 AM

Ditto, except I filed on April 9th. Refunds showed up on the 15th (DC) and 16th (Fed).

All you have to do is pay extra each month...and you will get a refund too.

vonsmog 05-28-2013 11:38 AM

Yea, what is this refund all about??? I have to pay every April 15th.

Porsche-O-Phile 05-28-2013 02:09 PM

Done, paid. Very simple. I normally agree with the "why give the government a 0% interest loan on your money" school of thought but with market rates of return as crummy as they are out there does it really matter all that much right now?

I hope things turn around and to be in situation where I can feel that way again in the next few years, but right now a few hundred bucks that might (if I'm lucky) net me about 20 bucks interest to not have any worries or headaches is worth it so I'll take the refund.

foxpaws 05-28-2013 02:12 PM

My tax guy and I have a running bet - If I get a refund of over $500 dollars or have to pay more than $500 he buys, if I fall inside those parameters, I buy...
