				Skin Tags...What's the Trick?

I've had a few for years now....seems like they came w/age. No big deal, until now. A real stinger has appeared on the side of my rib cage just about mid-bicep...always getting rubbed & hurts like hell! What works for gettting rid of these nasty things?...outside of hundreds paid to a Dr?

I had a plastic surgeon zip one off like it was nothing with his scalpel when I was there for something else. My dermatologist uses scissors on them. Hurts a little and it's over. I've seen liquid remover like what you use on warts advertised on TV. Annoying, but easy to deal with.

I had a bout with some in my arm pits about 20 yrs. ago. Haven't had any since, which I think is kind of odd. They were real PITAs in the arm pit. A Kaiser PA burned the off.

I've used nail clippers - bleeds like an SOB, but eventually heals over.

My doctor uses clippers. Like nail clippers but with outwardly curved blades. Clip clip... That's it. You barely feel it if done right.

If they are anything like moles, cut them and they will bleed for days. My brother always cuts his tags and moles off with a pocket knife as soon as he sees them. Dermatologist used some kind of mini melon baller thing on me to remove a mole. That and some kind of electric shock torture device thing to cauterize the wound. That skin tag remover product on the infomercials seems to be all natural. If I had a tag I would try that stuff because it's pretty cheap.

I would not cut growths off my skin without having a dermatologist giving it proper ID. There are nasty growths that you definitely do NOT want to operate on yourself. If you have health insurance, or even if you don't, get a yearly appointment with a dermatologist and have a check and tune up. Love this board. Pocket knives and nail clippers! G | ||

Soldering gun. Get it real hot first and then touch the tag quickly.

Thanks for all your responses. Just to touch this thing w/my finger is painful. I tried twisting/spinning it and I almost screamed like a girl. I'll go to the drugstore & buy some Tag Away & see how that works. I don't know what's happened to me...I used to have major tolerance to pain - no more. I'm falling apart like an old barn.

I used the propellant from a can of that compressed air computer cleaner spray. Take a drinking straw and snip off about 2 inches of it. Use that to isolate the tag from the rest of your skin. Insert the thin straw from the spray can into the 2 inch drinking straw. Invert the can and spray. You should be able to get the propellant right onto the tag and freeze it off. If not, trust me that it will be numb enough that even the biggest wimp can slice it off pain free. But it will bleed...and a lot.
