Powder Coatings Wheels, Means Car is Going On Blocks Sans Wheels...

I'm gonna powder coat my wheels but I will have to jack and block the car for 5 days during the process. Is there any special way to do this? Seriously

you could make little feet that have the five bolt pattern of the wheel-

you could go get a set of steel wheels and swap-

you could cut some 4"x4" posts up and crib it in four spots that are approved jacking points-

Jack stands on the torsion bar ends (rear) and on the a-arm support up front.

A couple of years ago, someone stole 8 retaining wall blocks exactly like these; I suspect this is the purpose for which they were used.

+1 on jack stands to the lift points or suspension frames. They are cheap.

I love the cars on blocks pictures. We should start a separate thread!

And what car are these wheels coming off? Did you buy a nice car?

i'm thinking that may be enough...

Had it wrapped - turned out pretty darn nice - should be getting her today. Looks pristine but the wheels are a sore spot now. A place a Grapevine quoted $65 and one in Farmers Branch quoted $85 - both do amazing work and have done Fuchs before.

You wanna do a Car show at the end of the month? The carrell I'm in is all 60's muscle - the Targa is gonna stick out like a nickel against a row of pennies could use a Kraut bookend to balance...

You got it wrapped? I need to see that.

Thinking of Plasti dipping mine.

Can might do a show end of month, would rather take the Benz though.

If you need a floor jack I have a spare.

Lemme know, I'm around the hood most of the weekend.

If you were close enough, I would loan you a set of wheels to hold your car up.

I'm around this coming weekend - work being done local. Car looks really good. The were working on the mrrors which according to the guy were a 'total b!ch' .

I'm really starting to think that with all the VOC issues and what have you that the idea of wrapping makes the most sense - it is a bit more labor intense but it does have upside as well as different effects and textures.

And yes, a spare set of wheels would be very cool to put on instead of jack stands...Scott? You got a spare set? FLA is a bit of a haul...)
