Anyone else get false alerts on a Valentine One due to their cell phone?

I only use a radar detector on long trips. However, my Samsung Galaxy S3 sets off the Valentine One. Took me a while to figure out what was causing it. I end up turning off my phone and checking message at fuel stops.

I picked up an Escort Passport 8500 X50 from Goodwill recently and was trying to decide which one to sell. I love the arrows on the V1, but the cell phone thing is very frustrating. Funny thing is that Valentine suggest that if this happens that one "cure" is to change cell phone provider.

I think it's K band. Further reading suggests the advanced logic mode may fix the problem. Yeah, my wife's iPhone doesn't seem to bother it.

My Iphone 4s has done it occasionally..usually when I set the phone near it.

Nope but I get a ton of X band false alarms and not-uncommon K band false alarms. Usually Ka is real, but not always. I think I haven't seen a LEO use X band since I've been driving with it (~5 years) so I'm considering disabling the X band entirely to cut down on nuisance alarms. I never thought of mobile phones as a source but could these devices be creating the frequent X band false alarms? What about other bands?

My unit is set off by GM taillights. Oddly, there's a number of fixed radar signs that DON'T (or no longer) set it off. I'm unclear as to why... I keep it on big L, switched to A and it was the same. :/

Yes - they point to the rear. Odd thing is that it's not consistent. I can drive 100 miles then it starts going off every 30 seconds. Kill the phone and it's fine. This started as soon as I got my Galaxy. Prior phone was a Motorola Droid and it wasn't a problem.

From the Valentine web site:

False X-band alert from rear, either continuous or random intervals. Cell-phone interference.
1. Relocate V1.
2. Change modes to Advanced-Logic (L).
3. Change cell-phone service provider.
