Any Volvo Penta sterndrive experts out there?

I have a 2005 Campion S545 equipped with a Volvo Penta 4.3 GL-E fitted with an SX sterndrive unit. How does one adjust the steering cables? When I'm going "straight", the steering wheel must be held at about 80 degrees counter-clockwise. I can't seem to find any info in the owner's manual or on the net other than "see your Volvo dealer for servicing".

I know there are quite a few Pelican boaters amongst us...and many of us are DIY diehards.....please "steer" me straight! ....pics would be greatly appreciated!

iboats.com is a great resource. I had my 2004 Tahoe rack and pinion power steering apart to replace the steering cable, with the cable detached from the rack the wheel spins freely. So I would center the lower unit, detach the cable from the steering wheel, center the wheel then reattach.

My bet is the steering is non-Volvo. I just helped a buddy replace a throttle cable on his Volvo Penta V6 Crownline, his cables are the exact same Teleflex cables as found on my Mercruiser equipped Tahoe. Most of the accessory stuff is universal generic parts, not branded to the boat manufacturer or engine.

Onewhippedpuppy, I did check out iboats.com and as it turns out, there is an older thread that deals with this exact issue....as you stated Teleflex cables involved...I'll check out my boat over the weekend and see if I could get this pita issue dealt with once and for all!
