Where in the video is the "confiscation of firearms" you warned about? Point a weapon at the police, and I guarantee they will take you down. Duh. Threaten to shoot police, and they will do the same.

Your example is a ridiculous extrapolation of standard police procedure.

Yeah - i guess the part about them going into her home uninvited and without a warrant isn't a problem for you. And again, I guess you're ok with an old woman being tackled and disarmed in her own home for no good reason.

I am sure you'd be just fine with this, assuming it was your mother or grandmother.

There is a NRA video of the gun confiscation that took place during Katrina. Much more video of the encounter with the old woman and never was she being aggressive to the cops. She was holding her revolver open handed over the frame.

Many will immediately dismiss the NRA video as agenda driven BS but the CNN video linked above shares much of the same feed - minus the bits that CNN deemed not relevant.

You keep dodging and weaving, changing your argument like Finny Mitty. Your original claim was:

"You do know that the national guard, in the wake of hurricane Katrina, confiscated people's firearms?"

In response, you post a video that has neither the National Guard doing any such thing, nor showing more than one isolated incident that was entirely justified. You're changing the subject because, as I said, you have nothing.

How do you know whether or not they had a warrant? Was one required under the current state of emergency? (Probably not)

Am I happy granny got tackled? Of course not. But if she had a gun, she should have known what to do when the police come knocking at the door. No training + no common sense should = no gun. She's damn lucky they did drill her, as they had every right to--she pointed a firearm them. I can snap the cylinder on my revolver closed and squeeze off a couple shots in about a second. At her age, it might have taken longer, but even an 80 year old (or an 8 year old) can do it.

Why would anyone wait in line for over 20 minutes at a Starbucks?

Addiction. It's a terrible thing.

Whooops no guns for you.....

There are a lot of Liberal politicans, who if they had their way would confiscate every gun in America....With New Town every knee jerk gun hating politician was up in arms about the evils of gun ownership. Even Obama spent his political capital on the issue...all to no avail as all the bitter Americans were clinging to their guns.

Sorry Corgi it is not for lack of trying...now Obama has directed the National Security Police to buy 4B rounds of ammo, with the aim of driving up the cost of ammo.

CA instituted an assualt ban in 92, for several years after that gun sales were down as people had spent their disposable on those guns...

Gun prices still seem to be pushing upwards...at least in the collectable markets.

I don't think Obama had the goal of driving up the cost of ammo. It was the panicked response to rhetoric after Newtown. There us no evidence that Obama is taking any actions against guns. He is seeking a way to minimize violence like having grade school kids massacred. A worthy use of political capital.
I don't agree on your statement about most liberal pols. Harry Reid is an avid NRA dude. Many others are vets (John Kerry) who undoubtedly have guns. Sure, gun haters would rather they be gone. But so what? I hate drunk driving, but I wouldn't advocate that all cars come with breathalyzer interlocks.

As for me, my addiction to coffee has not been an obstacle. Put 250 rounds down range Saturday.
The new Covert Affairs is out, Lil Piper has a .357 Chiapas Rhino. Fires out the bottom.....supposed to reduce recoil, can't break a nail, ya know?.

Odd to see a revolver on the TV, just sayin'....
