My "NEW" ~Cheap PepperWguhnz

Family friend had this and took good care of it since purchased new in 2006. Deep pockets always warranted big dollar dealership visits so its basically been over-serviced.

Why CHEAP? I always joked with the guy that despite the winter rally look of the wheels it was a nice car and I wanted first stab when he got rid of it. Last Saturday he decided to take it to CarMax (God I love those morons!) to get a "price" on what they would pay. Of course he didn't even take the time to run it through a carwash...

They told him $7000, because it was in "poor" condition.

He told me this at my cousins graduation party Saturday afternoon, I told him I'd give him $7100.... I drove it home Saturday night

Some Before ...

The paint was talking back to me

And After

It's a darn shame it was in such poor condition

I'll give you $7,200 (extra hundo for your sweat equity) LOL. Congrats and agree with the nice color combo.

I know. I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that my DirtBike cost more than a Cayenne. LoLoL!!

Best part, is the underside is just as clean...looks like it has maybe 30k on it.

Underhood paint shines better than the rest of the car...wasn't molested by carwash scrubbers

Better engine shot, it cleaned up O.K.

It always amazes me that people will spend a good chunk of change for a car, then not make any real effort to take care of it.

Good score. How does it drive? Is the V-6 underpowered or is it fine?

This was what, a 60K car new?

At that price it was simply out of your hands, you had no choice.

My son's 1999 Tacoma is worth nearly as much...that is goofy. Those two car occupy completely different orbits.

There is a sizable percentage of people, rich and poor, who think of a vehicle as a big, ugly machine that is a necessity in their life for transportation. Giving it any attention or love beyond what is absolutely required is out of the question.

It drives like a really well refined/lowered Tahoe. It feels big like an SUV but corners and stops better than any other I have driven aside from later model Cayennes. Puts a new X5 in the monster truck category in comparing ride quality.

It's by no means fast but goes when you need/want it to. I'm sure similar to other SUVs.

My only gripe is with the A6 trans and the V6, there seems to be more gear hunting than needed. The transmission program is set on kill, like high performance gear change all the time.

I may try and find someone who could remap the shift program and calm it down a bit.

Then why would such a person buy a Porsche???
