P-911 Hot Wheels collection...
Okay, so a long time ago, a got a 911 Hot Wheels as a gift. Somehow after family, the universe and late night ebaying, I have ended up with quite a collection of 911Hot wheels. I have over 70 unique 911s, maybe a 100 if I think about it. Though I can't imagine any significant 'value' to the collection, it is quite fun. Even when I open the garage door and smell gas coming from my 2.7l, I still love collecting. Am I the only one? Anyone with something really rare?

I've been a Porsche model collector since I was a kid, but never really got too heavy with the Hot Wheels......except one. This was a special model given out only to the top producing sales people at Mattel in 1974. Very rare is putting it lightly.
It could possibly be for sale.... ![]()

I buy them for my 3 year old. He has several.
When his vocabulary was less than 30 words, 3 of them were Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini.

Funny story:
When I was an intern in surgery, one night a father and his son come in through the emergency door. Father says in his broken french (was foreigner): "Son Swallowed the car". After some WTF moments, he explains to me that his son has swallowed a part of a die-cast car. So into the X-ray, and there is a nice opaque shape in his stomach. I ponder it for a while, and declare " that is a 911 door". Instant laughter in the room from my colleagues. I say nothing, go in the exam room and ask if the car is with them. The kid produces a mint green 911 turbo from his Pocket.... Ever since, I am the (self) proclaimed expert on foreign body ID in kids... |

I was given this by a friend on my last day of work back in Oct when I got laid off.
![]() He said he was at T**s R Us and saw it and instantly thought of me since my car is yellow. Said he just had to get it for me.
