Aw dammit. Took it out on the dirt and put a lipo in it and I guess that's too much battery. I burnt out the motor. Literally melted the brushes (I took it apart to check).

It's a cheap little motor so I didn't have high expectations with it but the lipo isn't 'more' voltage. It just has a higher draw tolerance so ESC can push more amps through the motor. On the other front - my SC10 which is a 1/10th scale Team associated 'Short Course' truck with a brushless motor. Powered by a lipo at 5amp, 7.4V that can support up to ~250amps in draw melted the transmission gear. I just got this battery, the one before it was the same 5amps and 7.4v but the draw was a little lower - ~200amps. I would be very surprised if I was actually drawing that much while driving under load but when you hit the higher draw rates the voltage is supposed to drop off. Maybe on the older battery I was hitting that which was keeping things just cool enough... I don't know. It's awesome though.

Mike... Sounds like you had a gearing issue if you burned that motor out...

Man, this thread needs more pictures. That is a cool little truck the great thing about the 16th scale stuff is you can use it inside.

Here's a quick shot of my 10th scale buggy. ![]() Lol speaking of the xo1 I took the front splitter and rear diffuser and rigged it up on my buggy with a set of street tires for a little bit. Called it the Axial Atom lol.
