It's a Renault Floride. I just done some work for a guy who is an avid Renault collector. Has one of these in a bright yellow. Looks stunning.

I agree, a great looking car that turns heads wherever it goes.

A Fiat Spyder is a similarly cute car.

I had one for my first car at 14 in 1968. Removable hard top, was the good part. Bad part was the engine that supposedly put out 40hp. Truly Shetland pony horses.

as with most european cars in that era, they were woefully short of just about everything but unique styling. Pictures of accident aftermaths in the papers usually showed a pile of metal rubble and a wheel or two.
I had a Caravelle for a short... very short period of time- NON MERCI !

Looks like they forgot to put a grille on it. Fairly generic styling- looks like a lot of cars.

I had a few Renaults in my youth...Alpine, R8 Gordini, R5-T2, and a couple of R10's.
Built for economy, those early Caravelles had a gutless 3-main bearing engine (same as the Dauphine) and horrible front brakes. Not unusual to see Renaults in those days with a crunched-in front end from banging into things and rear-ending other cars. The chief mechanic at the local Renault dealer had a pristine Caravelle in storage. He died and his wife sold it for lots of $$$$...a friend of mine bought it. I never could warm-up to the Caravelle style.
