Collection of 100 digitally remastered photographs from 1860-1924

For the history buffs, these vintage photos of American's past have been digitally enhanced and restored.

I found this very moving; a snapshot into lives of folks now long passed on, from a time and place we can only read about.

Photos I Like: HISTORIC PICTURES RESTORED

Very cool. Look at plate #16. Notice the lady in the front holding a rifle.

Great photos. I like the ones of Detroit.

Apparently they came from: Juniper Gallery | Shorpy Fine Art Prints by Juniper Gallery

Their site has literally thousands of vintage photos.. although most haven't been enhanced like the initial link.

I enjoyed those pictures. Too bad there weren't any taken out west.

I love those pictures. I think I might have been born in the wrong era.

Those people are full of energy, wonder, and anticipation that something great is about to happen. They are responsible for themselves and that's what motivates them, not waiting for someone else to listen to their self-sorry excuses.

Not sure if folks have seen this video. It is about an 11 minute movie taken by someone putting a camera on the front of a cable car and going down Market St in San Francisco. What makes this so interesting is the fact it was taken just before the earthquake of 1906. Enjoy

COOL! Thanks...

^ Looks a lot like Market Street layout today. It's sad and weird to see how many buildings were destroyed.

Old naval pants are cool. Drop the front for business and keep your pants on.

Thank You for posting those.
Favorites are about the railroad.
I will spend more time on these as they are a feast for the eyes.
These pics. Make me want to start drawing again.

Really enjoyed the photos, especially the maritime images. the S F video is of an amazing time. the mix of horse drawn, and motor driven vehicles all moving at a pace that could include pedestrians on the roads.
a cool step back in time. thanks!
