Very cool!

I like the idea of the 818, but I feel like the execution leaves something to be desired. The entire SCREAMS kit car (it looks like an afterthought) and the front fascia doesn't look right.
But smiles/$$? It'll be hard to beat. |
I think it would be a hoot. I'd love to build one for someone just to take a few laps.
|
Looks like fun, especially for the money involved.
Personally, I'd prefer one of their other classic model kits that's based on a US V8 engine. Much more power can be made. The 65 looks like a hoot. But those are all a lot more $. G |
Buy a cheap 986 Boxster S, strip it, put race slicks, springs and dampers and bars, and it'll be just as quick, probably more reliable, definitely safer, and assured to be engineered correctly, unlike this thing.

I built this daytona coupe from F5 in 2006. Their kits are very well engineered and they sponsor several racing classes.

Mark - that's awesome. Yes, that's what I'd go for over a subie power fantasy car. Your power options are wide open on the V8 ford platform.
So, what happened to the car, Mark, you still have it? G |

"Normal" folk like me can't deal with that thing and the power comes of fairly smooth for a turbo. |
G,
I sold it several years ago to a guy who now races it regularly. It had a Ford 392 (stroked 351w) crate engine with stack efi that put about 380HP to the rear wheels and weighed just north of 2200 lbs. I loved it, but it was time to move on. Here's an engine shot: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...e1-2-06026.jpg |
You can't turbo an 818. (i/j)
