so that's why the helo is up

Had an LAPD helo overhead for the past hour. Was wondering what was up then found this (it is fairly close to our house). What is wrong with people?

Tervuren 08-03-2013 07:09 PM

Assault Vehicle?

TRE Cup 08-03-2013 07:30 PM

What it up with the driver? Maybe a seizure ?
according to the news the driver was doing about 20 mph when the car went thru the crowd

5String43 08-03-2013 07:59 PM

Helo over our block last night. Burglary. Two suspects arrested. I sat in my car for 75 minutes three doors from home. Cops had closed down our block, wouldn't let me through. Lights, cops, dogs, guns. Scary.

What was the car doing on the Venice board walk? Isn't that off limits for cars except for police vehicles?

Porsche-O-Phile 08-04-2013 04:25 AM

Probably got sick of being stuck in traffic on the 405, PCH or on Wilshire.

stomachmonkey 08-04-2013 05:11 AM

Looks like a Black Audi.

For a burglary? You have got to be kidding me. Not to stir the pot but I just don't understand how Y'all put up with that kind of marshall law type of treatment.

1 dead, 11 hurt after car drives into crowd on LA boardwalk

Published August 04, 2013/
FoxNews.com

The driver of a car that struck 12 people on the Venice Beach boardwalk in California, killing one and hospitalizing nine others early Saturday evening, did so deliberately, according to witnesses.

One witness told CBS LA that the driver was "out for blood." Another estimated that the car was going 60 miles per hour. The car was still moving as it drove out of sight of first responders and the injured.

Someone supposedly turned himself in last night and is now arrested. Nuts. Just nuts.

I live off Sunset in Brentwood... LAPD helos fly directly over my place at least 3 times a day...fairly low too. I wish they would fly a less noisy helicopter like an EC135 or change their routes up a bit.

speeder 08-04-2013 09:52 AM

I just saw the video, it was definitely deliberate and he is being held on murder charges. What a horrible oxygen thief this guy is.

BeyGon 08-05-2013 06:49 PM

I would like to know why there is no photo of the guy that did this, no mug shot, nothing, there are many pictures of the woman that was killed, in what the news said was an "accident", yeah, plus photos of other victims, but nothing on the killer, why is that, does he deserve some kind of privacy?

Hugh R 08-05-2013 06:53 PM

Million dollars bail. He apparently asked the cops "How many people did I hit". Some transient living in his car with addresses from several states.

The Italian woman who was killed in the hit-and-run was identified as Alice Gruppioni, 32. Her family in Bologna told the Italian news agency LaPresse that she had been on her honeymoon after a July 20 wedding.

Gruppioni worked as a manager for the family business Sira group, which makes radiators. Her father, Valerio Gruppioni, runs the company and was formerly president of the Bologna soccer team, according to LaPresse.
As far as I'm concerned...this scum bag should be released into her father's custody, for him to do what he wishes.....nothing like good old fashioned Italian justice.....

nostatic 08-05-2013 06:59 PM

The US is still innocent until proven guilty iirc.

No conspiracy. The cops don't want to screw things up.
