Aerobatic pilot takes his friend for a ride... the friend who's afraid of flying!
Language is NSFW, but it's pretty amusing.

Funny, but sad. That dude must have missed rock fights, lawn darts, and junping off house roofs as a kid. Too much wii, not enough skinned knees and elbows.

At least he didn't puke.
I think they are supposed to have parachutes on to do those maneuvers but that's ok, the FAA would never watch you tube.

Look up the phrase "he screamed like a litte girl" and you should find that video.

He isn't THAT scared of flying if he got in the plane.
No effing way i'd ever go for a spin in an acrobatic plane.

Remember the Pelican member who was afraid of flying so he got in an experimental plane with his buddy to try to overcome the fear? He's dead.

I went up in a T28 aerobat and the pilot took me through his whole routine. It was very fun and I didn't scream or barf but did manage a little green tint.

I am a private pilot and while I have never puked, after 5-10 minutes of aerobatics occasionally as a "passenger" I start feeling the urge to. I have never experienced any sort of motion sickness when I have been at the controls.

If you've ever sought out the best/fastest roller coaster in the amusement park, or the most curvacious empty road to speed on, then you'll probably want to fly with exuberance in a small rattly airplane.
Do it. There's only one way to overcome your fears.... You'll either get sick and the pilot returns to earth, jump out in a scared panic with a parachute at sufficient altitude, or perish instantly. Look at it this way: People die falling off ladders, crossing the street, or eating bad food, and the basic ability of fight is brand new in the entire history of humanity. It is a gift. Funny perhaps but if that was his first time in a small plane it was a terrible was to introduce someone to flying.

Wow. Looks like fun!
For a while there was a Snoopy and the Red Baron themed aerobatic show at King's Island amusement part. They had two Waco biplanes, a black one and a red one. They guy who flew the part of Snoopy took me up with him a couple of times when they were practicing the routines. He told me they practice over the city dump in case someone falls out (!). I would get so confused about which way was up that I finally just sat back and started trying to guess which direction the horizon was going to appear next. The tail slides were amazing. The horizon would totally disappear and I could feel we were going up. Then it would get very quiet, then I would feel kind of weightless, then the horizon would appear either on the right or left, I never really knew which, and all hell would break loose - engine wailing and wires screaming and all I could see was the ground coming up at me ... I did figure out that when it gets real quiet you are about to go up in the seat and when the wind in the wires its really loud your were about to be smooshed into the seat, other than that I was lost most of the time. I don't know how those pilots do it.

Ouch! Lose a control surface, or exceed max Gs or max airspeed and it's game over.

Sigh.
To be honest, I had pushed Shawn's story out of my mind. Well, buried it deeper down to be more exact. Of all the things I've read and seen on Pelican, Shawn's death and the way it occurred probably hit me the hardest. So many times on this board we have people posting about going out and daring to try new things, overcome fears, explore, and live life to the fullest. Shawn was trying to do that and now he's no longer with us because of it. It's just a lot to handle when I think about it. In the case of the video, I think doing aero tricks in a plane like that is awesome, but I sure as s*** would not want to be a passenger. Pilot in control? Sure. Passenger? I better trust that guy with.. well, literally my life, and more so than any other meaning of the such. As others have stated- I have felt a little green in the right seat of small single prop aircraft before, but if I have the stick- I feel 100% fine. I do not enjoy not knowing what motion comes next.
