Son's crazy ride
I just took a ride in my son's cheap little Dodge SRT 4 and it's crazy fast. He has a stage 3 set up, with a 50 trim turbo running E85. I think it would give a lot of high priced super cars a run for their money.

Guy I got my 914 is a Mopar guy, has one of those hotrod Neons, among other more interesting, to me anyway, vehicles. They are way under rated for power stock, and make stupid power pretty easily. His is stock and plenty fast, but he has all the stage 3 stuff in the boxes. You would need to be on a track with one of those things if you had that big turbo under the hood. Sub 3000# and 300+ horsepower, I would hope it has a limited slip diff.

We sent our son to Thunder Hill for a teen driving school. After the course, some of the instructors gave the kids rides in their personal cars around the track. Our son, Ryan, rode with a fellow in an SRT 4 Neon. Probably modded...
![]() Ryan was absolutely flabbergasted at how fast it was. He said it wasn't as fast as our spyder, but other than that car, that fellow's Neon was the fastest car he had ever ridden in. angela

Certainly capable and very quick cars, but I cannot get past the styling.
The SRT Caliber was an improved evolution for the SRT Neon

My son just got slicks so we'll be taking it to a local track to do a couple 1/4 mile pulls. His forum buddies think it should be an 11sec car (we'll see). I'll post his times. After a recent tune the dyno showed a little over 400hp at the wheels. I agree with the styling issues. I can't get over the fact that it's a neon, but in a straight line it really pulls.

Silly fast but it's still an econobox Neon.

I love these cars. They are indeed stupid fast. I've had a few RT and ACR Neons, but only have ridden in and driven one of my friend's SRT. And yes they handle great. His car is setup for the track and consistantly runs faster lap times than most 911s.
