Need rev limter for chevy 350
just got an old late model race car built back around 86.
the engine has to at least be that old. it does NOT have a rev limiter on it right now but I would like to have one since I am new to racing and don't want to have to focus on RPM right now. been looking for a rotor style rev limiter like is available for Porsche but I don't know much about American engines and was hoping someone could help with finding something. I bought an MSD to put in but it does not have an alternator and I don't want to put the extra load on the battery plus I don't think a battery alone would run the MSD properly. |

Crappy cylinder head designs work well for Fords.
Google MSD ignitions. I ran a 7,000 chip for my 331 Ford. Max hp was at 6,400 and would spin to 7,200

if its an HEI several companies make modules under the cap that you can set a rev limit on

I have a bigger gear in there than I need so I am only hitting 5800-6k right now with the brake issues I had last time out.......along with my driving, as in im not at the lap times I need to be at. I would have to put in an alt, to run the MSD box I have. pretty cool distributor though, the tach is a mechanical tach driven off the dist.
