Ashton Kutcher ? Who woulda thunk it?

Good, short speech by Kutcher with some great advice. Don't think anyone in the audience really heard it over the screaming teeny boppers however. Skip the first minute:

Umm, he may have changed a few young lives for the better with that speech. Good on Ashton, err, Chris.

speeder 08-14-2013 02:49 PM

Yeah, that was good. He's from Iowa, good people come from there. It's about as salt-of-the-earth as it gets.

One of my good friends ran his production company for a while and another friend just hit the big time writing a script about Chris Kyle, (murdered Navy SEAL), AK is attached to play CK. And that's why he just hit the big time. :)

now bono is saying positive things about capitalism. did i just wake up in bizarro world?

MikeSid 08-14-2013 04:08 PM

Pretty impressive that he used the name of his upcoming movie at least a dozen times in that speech, all while preaching a good message appropriate for his audience.

Ashton's not a "mogul" for no reason. The kid knows how to sell himself.

mb911 08-14-2013 06:37 PM

still a good speech either way. Too many kids think jobs come easy and work is not work but suppose to be fun.

this ***** is lamer than Lazarus.

Among all, "actor" he's not. Singlehandly killed the movie by his presence. Even my 21 old daughter rolled her eyes when she found out he was playing the role of a person she admired. Close to being the male version of Paris Hilton , j lo, and Brittany spears in that they keep coming up in the media for a talent no one knows. Have some looks, get a few key roles, marry a celeb, bingo, you've made it.

I recommend this speech instead

VINMAN 08-14-2013 07:11 PM

Wow, didn't expect that. Gained a few respect points in my book with that speech.

Hydrocket 08-14-2013 07:51 PM

Not sure how "salt of the earth" the guy is after he had a few affairs behind his wife's back.

But still a nice speech.

speeder 08-14-2013 07:56 PM

Pretty sure that I was referring to the place he comes from, not the guy. And I could give 2 schits about his personal life...that's personal. You need to back away from the tabloids a little.

Hydrocket 08-14-2013 08:00 PM

^^It speaks of his character, to go behind your wife's back.

And while I'm sure this was tabloid fodder, this was a mainstream news story, the divorce of Kutcher and Moore. Hard not to make the news with 2 high profile people like these.

szyzygy 08-14-2013 08:02 PM

steve jobs was a POS boss. end of story.

If I could hype up to everyone else how awesome I am, everyone would clammer to come work for me, I and I would treat them like sh**t, like Steve Jobs did. ...

Steve job deserves no respect. Jobs to china, suicide nets, general crappiness of his products, anti-trust lawsuits - he sucked. End of story.

I don't see the disconnect. Country folks are the salt of the earth. Now, what's most country music about again?

Except he is almost universally admired. Unlike you.
