new car (sav? suv?) day
Finally off the boat and on to the street. Totally painless dealer experience, and they even gave me a free loaner for the past week since I'd already sold my car.
So far really impressed with the drive and I got the spec right. Sport seats but they are manual, xenon lights and tech package (nav, voice control), no sunroof, no leather, no other stuff other than sat radio and heated seats. Kind of hard to get the color balance right. The orange is nice - not quite as bronze as the Honda elements, but nice metallic so it isn't stupid bright. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

My brother has one, loves it....
Except for the idle cut off/auto start... he said it drives him crazy.. you need to disable it every time your key starts the car..My bro does not really care about the 10 gal/year he use idling at a red light... And BMW requires 2 days to reflash the ECU ( getting permissions and codes from the Fatherland, etc...) Very nice wheels

The loaner was a 328i and it had the auto stop. It was pretty rough. By comparison, this one is reasonably smooth. I'm going to leave it on as it doesn't bug me that much.
This has the old hydraulic steering rack and it handles like a real car. The 328i had the newer electric and it was ok but a bit twitchy. |

Is there really a time for the Rubicon?
I went through it in a FJ40 and took 3 days , some guys on dirt bikes went through in a day. Nice looking car and the paint looks like a spinoff of the BMW K 1300 S/R bikes, called Lava Orange though the Lava a has more of a flip to it.

I really like that color. You did wise sticking to your options choice. It is so easy to raise your cars price 25% picking these.

Nice color. Don't fall for BMW's SAV nonsense, it's an SUV.

I like that color a lot as well- suits that bodystyle. Be careful not to curb those wheels...
