Oem cupholders....
Which manufacturer of cars has the best cupholders?
My 2001 Porsche Boxster has terrrible ones that hang over the heating/air cond. just waiting to spill over onto the buttons, gum them up with the subsequent need for maintenance of the latter. Similarly tried a 2011 Bmw 328ix yesterday and the driver's cupholder swings out and towards the various buttons and you have to reach over towards the passenger side to get your coffee cup. I know that good cupholders/location thereof are not a dealbreaker but to me they are important. I tried a 2010 Lexus IS250 yesterday and the cupholders were in the centre console so if they spilled the liquid would be contained in the receptacle out of harm's way.... So who makes the best oem cupholders and how important are they to you when buying another car? Oh yes another reason I like Lexus cars - they have good ergonomics. |

We have an Odyssey and an Equinox and both really have good cup holders(and many of them).
The 911 has crappy cup holders............ I was very disappointed in the ones in our BMW 5 series, though. You would think that designers of such an awesome vehicle could make better versions.

The Saab one that unfolds out from the front dash is pretty neat, IMO.
