 Who wants to watch saloon cars racing? Well at Goodwood you got the chnce to see huge Galaxies against Minis, Lotus Cortinas, Mk11 Jags, and an Alfa Gulia Sprint taking the Galaxy in all the corners then losing out on the straight each time. As for modern British Touring car racing, its probably the most exciting form of current circuit racing for spectators with more overtakes per lap than any other formula, and performance ballast being applied (up to 100 pounds for the winner) for the following race to even things up. |

 It was a qualifying session.  I believe he put the car on pole or at least was on the front row.  In the conditions some drivers decided discretion was the better part of valor and took it easy but the competition for the front of the grid was intense, as it was in all of the other races.  Hopefully they will post some video of Jean Alesi in the '64 Ferrari GTO.  I almost could not watch. Quote:
