I hate iOS7. Really, really hate it...
 

Some of the functionality is a mild upgrade I guess, but it looks just awful.

The icons are drawn from a palette of day-glo neon Muppet vomit. And when you turn on the phone the icons do this dizzying dance. Impossible for me to overstate how much I HATE THIS!

apple could set up profiles for the look of the phone by age and you would have to tell them you are 22 to get it to look this way-

Agree, looks like something MS designed. But my phone is a lot faster so I just don't care.

Someone, Rick, Legion, maybe, suggested a dark plain background.

It does not make it all go away but helps big time.

I've not even upgraded to the last iOS 6 release - don't want pushed updates from anyone unless I ask for it.

Unfortunately, as geeky as I get I want my phone to be a good phone. The extra stuff is just extra, and while I use texts, the web, and a game or two on my phone, I could get by without. And the iPhone was (pre iOS 7 apparently) good at being just a phone.

I guess when I get an upgrade next year I'll have to just go all geek and get a Android device with good hackability and fix it up the way *I* want it to be. Something you can only do with Free software.

But but but, Apples the epitome of design....you guys just don't get it....

Has anyone found an app that lets you design your own app icons?? I can take it or leave it but it drives me crazy that some folks are bothered by them. They do look like they were designed by a bunch of hippies from the 60's or the Grateful Dead.

I like it on my iPad but I do not like it on my iPhone.

I hate IOS 7 so bad I am considering returning my iphone 5s and going back to my 4s which is still on 6.2.3. LTE is not worth the hassle of IOS 7 - its like a bad cartoon. it horrid. I hate everything about it.

My 12 year old daughter loves it. Demographics, dude. Demographics.

Try "invert colors". I like it, makes me feel all kinky. I like the regular iOS 7 look okay too. It bugged me for a day and now I'm used to it.

I installed it, removed it, then a few days later went back to it. Doesn't bug me any more. I use Tempo instead of the calendar, nothing else really offends me. I hate skeumorphic design, but I think they swung too far in the other direction. I think it'll get a bit more refined down the road. Still nowhere as chaotic as Android.

Hoping for the ability to change themes in the next release - and hoping they have a 'classic theme' option. Flat and fluorescent just doesn't do it for me...

If you have the time to flesh that out I would be interested.

Android doesn't put many constraints on the developers, and as a result you get apps with UI elements all over the place. Much less consistency in usability from app to app.

I will leave Apple over this come renewal time in Jan. Nostatic, how do you go back? IOS7 has so screwed up my iTunes, it's ridiculous. That's what I use my phone for the most. I have to do a hard reboot several times a week now because the music controls become unresponsive and then the display all out of whack. I hate it with a passion and curse it every day. If Apple doesn't fix this soon, they'll be losing a ton of market share.

fwiw I haven't had any problems with iTunes, and the BT in the car seems behaved now. This is with an iPhone 5.

I went through a deleted enough stuff from my 4S to do the update 2 days ago. Phone has crashed and rebooted 6 times since then. I plug the phone into my MacBook this morning and iTunes isn't happy because I need the new version of that. Okay, fine. Download the new iTunes and the MacBook isn't happy because I need the new OS. AWESOME!!!

The new notification center leaves a lot to be desired. How about a list of the next 5 items on my calendar, whatever and whenever they may be? Is that so hard?

Other than that, I'm starting to get used to iOS 7, I dislike it less than I did when it first came out.

Just follow the settings adjustments recommended by any one of the tech web sites - gets rid of the 3d effects, improves contrast, increases text size yada yada yada.

Job done - and the battery lasts longer too.

That sounds specific to your phone. Can you reset and reinstall? My iTune is fine, no issues at all.

Mine was fine too until I "upgraded" to IOS7. And doing so has also brought back several tunes I had long ago deleted.

Sure you don't have "show all music" turned on?

I haven't touched iTunes on my computer for well over a month before I went to IOS7.

Clearly it's your fault, Rick. It's something you did wrong.

There's no possible way Apple could have screwed anything up.

In iOS 7, Settings, Music, check that "Show All Music" is turned OFF.

I don't really mind that aspect. Actually found a few songs I kind of missed and like having back. It's when the controls on my music freeze and I have to do a hard reboot to make them work again. Or when the display goes from the song I'm listening to to showing all album covers with no way to go back or forward without another hard reboot.

Again, that isn't normal, so you should re-install. I would.

Mine locks up, crashes all the time as well. Google image search is whack too.

Am I the only person who is NOT on Snow Leopard already? iTunes wont even acknowledge my phone until I upgrade the OS from 10.5.8. It's only $20 for the disc and it looks like I can go directly from 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard and then do the 10.6.8 patch. Do I then need to install the iTunes 11.1 to get my phone to sync again, or is it going to work with the 10.6.8 upgrade?

just in case anyone else has the same issue I had with the iOS7 upgrade:

Upgraded from OS 10.5.8 to 10.6.8 by ordering the Snow Leopard install DVD from Apple for $20. Did the 10.6.8 patch today after the install. Downloaded and installed iTunes 11.1 after that. I can finally sync my iPhone again.

Just tried to sync my iPhone 5 and macpro and now getting an unknown error and the phone won't sync. This is not good. Never happened before and I have sync'd since installing the ios7 update. Any recommendations.

I'm running 10.4.11 and all is well. I think.

I recently ditched my iphone in favour of a blackberry z10. It's SO much better. The iphone is a toy. The blackberry is a multifunctional device that actually works.

Blackberry won't be around much longer. Company will likely be gone in half a year. Don't know how devices and network will be supported.
