Ever notice how neighborhood playgrounds are empty of baseball and basketball pick-up games? Lack of interest, exercise. Its all about Angrybrds and Facesmack.

Doing a lot of generalizing here. My oldest is 9, and has been playing organized sports since he was 4. He's doing tackle football now, will be doing basketball next until Christmas, do another session of basketball into spring, move directly into baseball through summer, and then be back into football. All of his buddies do the exact same thing, he's been playing with generally the same group of kids since preschool. From what he says they all play football or basketball at recess (2x daily), and normally play a pickup game of football for at least 30 minutes after school gets out. He typically does some sports related camps as well. He watches some tv too, but I don't think he suffers from a lack of activity. BTW, he loves every second of it, I never have to talk him into playing anything.
