"Chicken" Nuggets
 

So they are 50%+ "White Slime". I wonder if there will be the same uproar as "Pink Slime?"

All people care about is cost & taste.

At least Chicken Nuggets appear to be entirely from a chicken --- As the saying goes: parts is parts!

I have been to the actual factory where McNuggets are made and I can tell you all with 100% certainty that they are made from white meat. The breast meat is stragically cut to produce the most amount of nuggets with the least amount of watse. Its really amazing! They work off of 4 different configurations. The machines takes a quick pic of it and analyzes it and determines the exact cut to make (from high pressure air - they used to use water jets.

Now, I have also seen where the 'other' ones are made and I wouldn't eat them on a bet!

go to KFC, Popeyes, Browns. order chicken, u get whole chicken meat.

Ordering fried chicken in NOLA is excellent. Unlike Los Angeles, they don't have that trans-fat ban.

Re: the article, they analyzed exactly two nuggets to draw their conclusions. And didn't say where they came from. In scientific circles this would be considered pretty poor research.

i can attest that chicken head's comb is very tasty. i'd pay extra for that nugget.

FWIW Carls Jr has really good chicken bites,
if you never had them its worth a try,
a bit more cash but a whole lot better tasting,
and you get more meat

I haven't eaten McNuggets in a VERY long time. Many, many years. The last time I tried one it seemed like ground, regurgitated junk chicken.

Are you a scientist?

I don't mind the 'extra' parts as long as they are clearly identified on the label.
I do make a great slow-cook broth from leftovers.

Nuggets, however, are reputed to have absolutely awful food specs.

Seeing is believing.

But I could do that with anything I finely purée and mix with a binding agent as needed. You could take the most pure, organic, natural, fair trade, shade grown, broccoli and make a light green frozen yogurt looking mix that you would say is horrible for us but it's just broccoli.

I think McNuggets are pretty tasty. Havent had them in a long time.

I used to screw with people...tell them that the mcnuggets are shaped geographically like the area where you're from. (I was from Indiana)

If you look at chicken mcnuggets, they are always 1 of 3 shapes. The three shapes resemble:

Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.

Next time you get them...check it out. You can even fit them together like a map.

Would you prefer chicken nuggets or rooster nuggets?

Is anyone that has eaten both real chicken and a chicken nugget surprised by this? Just compare the two, rarely does the nugget resemble real chicken. I wonder how much money was wasted to tell everyone something that should be common sense? Oh yeah, breaking news, fast food is bad for you!

I'll preface my remarks by assuming you're asking if I'm a Scientist in a benign questioning way. Based on recent posts by you, I have my doubts.

Nevertheless, some here would say yes, others would say no as to whether I'm a Scientist or not. I have a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering and a Master's Degree. I have done plenty of statistical studies, notably on human risk assessments to environmental contaminants (Air pollution mostly) .

Let me ask you this, if you magafluxed two crankshafts from two manufacturers of whatever vintage, and both had fatal cracks would you conclude all crankshafts have fatal flaws? In other words, would you conclude that those two crankshafts are representative of all crankshafts? Same thing here. Two chicken "nuggets" out of the universe of those who make them doesn't mean they are representative of the entire population of "nuggets". But I'm sure you knew that, or at least I hope you do. My point is that some here, including the original poster don't seem to understand this concept.

Another consistent thing about them is if you order a 6 pack there is always one that has the look, texture and consistency of a used kitchen sink sponge that's been bleached.
