Need help from the graphics gurus

In my 1984 944 there is an aftermarket alarm system that has been in there forever. I'd like to completely remove the sucker but I'm having a hard time identifying what is is from the sticker. I figured that one of the first steps in removing it would be if I could determine the model number of the alarm then maybe I could find some documentation or wiring diagrams. Right now, all I know is that it goes from under dash up into a big bundle of wires. Here are some pictures that I took and also scanned by putting it on a flafbed. The sticker on the device has a metallic background so that makes it difficult. Could somebody work their Photoshop magic to enhance one of the pics so we could make out the model number? The scans first: from my phone (I realize that the 7-pin connector is off by a pin, but it was the best of all of the of the pics I took and it shows the part number best) Last edited by Paul_Heery; 10-13-2013 at 11:18 AM.. | ||

Paul: Here is a page on the Audiovox website for getting a 'replacement transmitter' for most models of Code-Alarm systems. Maybe that can narrow it down for you, based on the shape of the key-fob thing. http://store.audiovox.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=12551&storeId=11601&categoryId=10016802&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=10016800&top_category=10016800&pageView=

I've torn out several alarm systems over the years. My experience is that you really wont find any useful info for wiring diagrams. Most of them were installed by stereo shops with dubious results. I'd suggest doing a continuity check for each wire and then remove anything that goes to the alarm's control box. Usually, there's one wire that acts as a master cutoff, either going to the fuel pump or the starter solenoid. Yeah it's a pain in the ass. Even more so on the 944 where you have no room to work on anything.

Thanks for trying. But, there is no key fob for this one, This thing is from the '80s before remotes were in vogue.
