When I took my Windows 8 laptop back to Best Buy for a refund, I said Windows 8 was probably the worst OS I've ever (tried to) deal with. The Geek Squad guy said: "we get that a lot."
I tried it after an iPad and iPad Mini, neither of which worked as a 'middle point' screen between my Macbook Pro and iPhone. After dragging my feet for a few weeks, stepped up to a Macbook Air. Damn, should have done that in the first place. Sure, you can buy a cheap Microsoft-powered product, but it feels disposable and acts brain-damaged. |

That's administrativa that gets in the way of work. |
With out that administrativa, there'd be no buyers for the stuff you lot design. ;)

More on battery life....
The Haswell chips are pretty damn impressive. I can run 8-10 hours of dynamic 3D engineering parts and assemblies (off battery) when display is outputting to my 2560x1600 monitor. The Surface remains quiet, barely warm. (loving that) OTOH, that time can be close to halved when running the (rather bright) internal 1080p display; especially when running HD YouTube vid's. I suppose that none of this chip performance matters until Apple invents it. |
I found myself here via PARF (thanks Island). As a retired IT guy this thread is freakin' hilarious...'bout like debating political parties as to which one sucks the most. Windoze vs. Apple....they both suck BIG TIME compared to real computers and operating systems from my perspective....that is all :p
