Sad Day. Put my 911 in storage today

Bought my first Porsche 10 months ago, an 89 coupe. Had a blast and put 5,000 miles on it this year.

Today I dropped it off at my local air cooled P car guy for winter storage and to get some work done on it over the winter.

That was four hours ago and I am already miss it.

How will I get through the next five months? Therapy? Drugs?

Help!

When the salt and sand hit the road here I pull mine off the road and do maintenance and such on her. I find after about two months I am sitting behind the wheel making Varoom varoom noises.

And inversely it's getting cool enough here to take mine out until spring.

My starter(???) decided it was a good time to die yesterday. Lights, ignition, solenoid click & dead air. And I haven't got time to do the repair & I have a 20 mile drive to storage . . . the countdown has begun.

Always a sad day when those of us that get snow put the cars away for the winter. My sits in the garage and I drive it until they put salt on the roads.

I feel your pain man..... No snow or ice up here yet. Mine spends the winter in my own garage so at least I can stop in and see her!!! (waiting on a pelican shipment for some winter project parts at least!!!)

Ya know, it's not good to let it sit. Why not send it down to "winter" in the South. Lot's of Michanders do that you know. Would be happy to clear a spot in the garage and keep the gaskets exercised for you.

No need to thank me....that's just the way I roll.

Just moved to Ohio from WA. It is only now starting to sink in that I can't use my 911 as a daily driver for many months. I'll drive in cold, but the first time the salt hits the road.....*sigh*.

Nah, not crazy at all.

One element of of my therapy will be some fall/winter/early spring motorcycle riding. Just picked up a pair of heated gloves last week. Time to give the GSA some attention now that the 911 is tucked away.

Same situation here. Although I will miss the summer more than the Carrera. I have probably not put more than 600 miles on it this year.

Dude... It's a 997, a little salt won't kill it... Just make sure you get it all washed off.

Lol. Those of you that don't drive your cars all winter don't know what you are missing. The 911 is fantastic in the snow and a blast to play rally driver in. Even my '70 911T was my daily, I have fond memories of blasting around town in 10" of fresh snow.

For me it's a salt thing and nothing else. I drive the Bosxter in anything and snow only stops me when I don't have the ground clearance to go.
